Not all Iraqis are happy about the last US forces leaving the country after more than two decades of involvement. Kurds in particular are worried about their security. Iraq analyst Renad Mansour says the US withdrawal reflects its shifting priorities - including the war with Iran, which is also impacting Iraq.

Withdraw... sure! It has nothing to do with the Iran War and Houthi. It’s simply a case of the U.S. accidentally fishing its long-lost conscience out of the gutter. and Kurds... DW sound like as if this is the first time the U.S. has abandoned its ally.

The US could have come to some kind of agreement with Turkey, Syria, Iran but also Iraq to allow the Kurds to have a state. That state should be Kurdistan. Now many will say that is not going to happen which I know it wont but having over 30 million people not have a country is really sad. America and Europe have used the Kurds like you use your shoes and then just throw them away. Kurds did fight ISIS better than anyone else so Syrians and Iraqis should give them some respect. In Iran Kurds don't have any issues with the government but the Turks are always at war with them which is not right. Leaving the Kurds without a country means future wars will happen for sure. So the circle of violence is not stopped, just paused.
