After the Republicans' midterm setback, Donald Trump has made one of the biggest staffing changes of his second term, replacing chief-of-staff Susie Wiles with longtime aide Stephen Miller. Why did Trump turn to one of his most hardline advisers, and what could Miller's promotion mean for the rest of Trump's presidency?

There's a boatload of these pro Israel, pro war, anti Russia skeletons, permeating everywhere throughout the media and holding all sorts of power levers. DW being no exceptions, rolling out Hodges and similar and endless articles about Trump being in Putin's pocket insanities, undemocratic alliances, etc., you know the drill.
But, regardless of these guys wielding enormous power, I'd suspect they are deeply, deeply unpopular with the voters.
Trump (and every American president) is thereby in a limbo between kowtowing to the crazies and alienating the voters and conducting somewhat popular policies and getting constantly attacked by a stream of "opinion pieces" and "experts" of all sorts.
He has chosen the crazies and got burned in the elections. Yet, the craziest are out, celebrating, there will now be one less obstacle towards more war.
Cutting taxes…for the rich. I am highly suspicious of trump and miller. Your guest is talking as if these are very straight-forward, uncorrupt people. trump is a misogynist, of course another woman is cut. I don’t agree that this was some kind of amicable parting. I hope there are not a lot of people that believe that this is all so sensible, like this guest is making it seem. He sure is going to be shocked, if he is actually paying attention, which it looks like he is not. What else they can accomplish with immigration ~ like killing innocent people in the street? Removing the criminals has Not been the focus. My God, who is this man?
DW do better. Invite better and up to date people. This guys is just saying nothing for the money for the few days he has left. He doesn't care, has no teeth
Waste of time and interview. This professor is just a career interviewer, say nothing worth a damn and master the empty talks to get some money appearing on TV, always pretend as if both sides just has some non-problematic changes, lost sense of the times.
this feels like trouble, as if DT is saying "voters weren't nice to me; why should I be nice to them?" It isn't a good omen for the elections in 2028.
Australia had someone like Miller. He was a driving force behind a policy called Robo Dept. It damaged innocent lives. Many suicided and most never recovered though they did win a class action against the injustice. No one did a days jail for the murders.. I see this pattern in the USA too.
This is the best thing that could have happened right in this moment. Will just put a spotlight at the charicsturesque ridiculousness of what they stand for to a world who's disgusted and paying attention. Bravo!
Your looking at a future life sentence prisoner at a federal detention center. He has already been warned to retain legal representation. Miller will be charged with multiple murders guaranteed and the Democrats only need 4 Republicans for Trump's impeachment. They will easily get 6 or more that want to save their careers. Miller will be held accountable for murders committed during ICE raids, and very possibly more?
Doesn't matter. Miller is going to get plastered with subpoenas regardless of where he lands in the administration. This will all just set him up for an even bigger fall.
Trump let's MAGA know he's back! The appointment of Miller says, "I'm sorry for being so willing to compromise with the left. Let's get back to America First!" And by the way, America still loves Trump's agenda. The only thing they don't like is high gas prices and inflation.
This guy is a liar if he thinks Trump thought Iran close to bomb. Explaining it. This guy is another Israel apologists . He is talking as though Trump has been behaving normally.
Millier will be the fall guy Trump will betray him. Trump is a slime ball .
They say she left to work on finding the the candidate to replace Trump. Word is that Trump wants to hand pick the next Republican leader someone who will carry on his policies.
We should have known. There is a horizontal bar put up. We now know it is so Stephen Miller can hang upside down and have a nap when it's daylight.
Switching from Susie Wiles to Stephen Miller is like switching from shooting yourself in the foot to shooting yourself in the face. Trump is doubling down on his own stupidity.
I read the bald numb face's China report regarding the tradewar. It was poorly drafted. The focus was not accurate. The measures don't address the critical issues. It was on a second class master degree dissertation level. That's when I knew America's countermeasures were more of a reality TV show than an accountable government's sober strategy.
Allegations and scrutiny regarding Stephen Miller.
• Communication and Transparency Lawsuits: In 2019, the watchdog group American Oversight filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit (American Oversight v. DHS, DOJ, HHS, and State) targeting Miller's influence and records, alleging that executive agencies failed to produce communications involving Miller and personnel coordination across departments.
• America First Legal and Outside Interests: Miller founded the conservative advocacy group America First Legal and has held roles with Rushmore Ventures Inc. and the Trump-Vance transition. Financial disclosures outline asset values estimated between $1.5M and $2.6M+, including investments in xAI, Treasury bonds, and various stock transactions.
• Congressional Criticism: Following his elevation to White House Chief of Staff, congressional Democrats—including Rep. Robert Garcia, Rep. Pramila Jayapal, and Rep. Rosa DeLauro—publicly condemned the appointment, accusing the administration of corruption and vowing to push for congressional oversight and accountability.
This interviewee couldn't solve a Scooby Doo case, giving Trump the benefit of the doubt as if he were anything like a reasonable or reliable person.
You forgot to mention he is protecting her and he plans on pardoning everybody in his group so the child man flip-flop Donald is keeping it all close-knit with Stephen Miller.

Shill. There was no doubt about the state of Iran’s bomb program. Same as Iraq 20 years ago with WMD. Iowans need to be more honest about these things in light of how many Iranians and Iraqis die as a result of American bombs. Let’s be clear, an Iowan life has the exact same value as an Iranian life or an Iraqi life. Just so.
Gee- there's either naivety here or a lot of disinformation, or poor analysis.
** Miller is being brought in to deal with the two houses, but specifically the Senate. He's an attack dog and that's the only strategy that Trump knows or uses. Trump wouldn't be able to deal with the Senate (lack of ability) so you bring in Miller. And it shows that Trump has no interest in negotiating with the Senate.
**Trump never had any strategy when he decided to go to war with Iran. That was part of the problem. He gave at least three reasons - none of which made sense. Originally he told the world he had obliterated Iran's nuclear capability when it was obvious that had not occurred. He went against the advice of the military - probably at the behest of Hegseth. And finally Trump hadn't worked out an exit strategy (and still hasn't) so he's caught now where Iran has the upper hand in negotiation and the rest of the world suffers.
** The reasons for the Democratic midterm victories are obvious although some priorities were more important depending on the state.. Trump chose appalling candidates and that can be specifically shown in states like Texas. The cost of living, Iran war, corruption and Trump himself were all negatives.
Stephen Miller has had the president’s ear for years. Does his appointment as chief of staff signal Trump is going all-in on the MAGA agenda? Let us know what you think.
