We are responsible for the all bad stories written not God. The Bible reveals God s mercy towards our bad decisions that lead to consequences affecting us and our descendants. We form alliances with devil and surprised when life is full of horrible stories . Adam and Eve even after sinning , God still protected them from making even a bigger mistake ,, God hid the tree of life which would have given them immortality so they would have been stuck in a state of sin forever like the devil. God s mercy in action again and again in the Bible . All God ever is looking for is out for us we are the ones who fail . When African nations got political independence since the west still controlled our resources , how many western missionaries came to forbid us from uniting and truly claim our economic independence. No we didn’t we supported the murder our those among us who came up with ideas to free Lumumba , Sankara , Nkrumah . <br>Not even religion is the problem . We are the problem .

So much I can say about this episode as it relates to my views, values and lived experiences. I will sum it up with hearts ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Most if not all books I read outside academic are non fiction because I thoroughly enjoy conversations/thinking/perspectives/etc that grounds the human experience amidst the frenzy of life.
What a blessing to hear this conversation. Opened my heart to a different view that I needed right now. You two had the best mothers.

Trevor, I can so relate to being in a job that will stop for absolutely nothing. Being in healthcare is exactly the same way. It really does suck to be go, go, go nonstop. Being able to walk away when the time feels right is a beautiful act of courage!

Now getting to take this episode in. I couldn't believe I could appreciate & respect y'all any more than I already do. Blessings❤
I also agree with Eugene about the bible being only about suffering and mistakes. And personally I don’t find it philosophical or morally helpful. The punishments the ppl receive from god are too harsh and the whole message about all humans being sinners feels counterproductive and depressing. It offers me no help amd made me feel flawed for simply existing. I find community in other environments and I learn about morality from philosophy and discussions that don’t involve religion. And when I need counseling I talk to a therapist or a friend. If I weren’t able to do any of that maybe I turn to religion as a last result, but I’m really glad I don’t have to.

By the same token, we do not see people, we feel the spirit they are reflecting. We judge on the reflection and not the person.
In terms of religion and Church, I think there is no religious organization more giving than a Sikh Gurudwara. I am not a Sikh and I am an atheist but am awed what the community does for people. Not just members but the entire humanity is welcomed in their Gurudwaras with free food and shelter. Everything that comes in is spent on people support.
Eugene, you are some kind of wonderful, thank you for your lessons, sharing your lived experience with us and how you have faced the greatest grief a person can endure and have found a way through. Thank you. Trevor you got some awesome friends :)
