24:31 What Africa Can learn From Botswana
The very students with negative narratives about the country don’t even know what it means to pay school fees or tuition from primary to varsity. Give me one country that gives you full tuition from primary school to tertiary, Sends you overseas e.g to study medicine etc all paid for and still pays you stipends ( which when they don’t get they go on strike as if it’s entitlement when it’s a privilege). They actually get paid allowance to attend lectures but they waste all that as a spoilt Motswana youth, get F&D / gap yr.; Reform and apply for a second chance. That’s Botswana youth for you. They don’t appreciate what they have. They keep demanding more. They must be sent benchmarking to most of the African countries to wake them up. Government did this : too much “atlhama ke go jese” ( spoon-feeding) wasn’t a good idea. Stop free education from primary to tertiary/varsity and allowances , make parents pay tuition; have their parents pay universities, medical services etc. That should wake them up !
First of all, I love your videos. They are super informative and very insightful. Would've loved to hear what the two girls at 3:42 had to say.
Thanks, i have been waiting to see how Botswana is like
No my brother Botswana didn't escape anything you talking about... SADC countries are mainly peaceful and not pro religion or pro islam that's the difference between us and you west Africans and we are not deeply tribalists like west Africans
They had one major asset 💎 and the made very good use of it. Dubai has oil and they did the same. Other African countries that have oil, uranium, zinc are swimming in poverty and their excuse is population 🤔
Some of us opted to take different routes to pursue life away from varsity. My mindset is not at any point based off of benefiting from the government. I wonder what would be these kid's comments, if the government decided to revoke sponsorships and also start legal means to be paid back all sponsorship paid for by government all these years.

Free depo, free ARVs, free education, primary — varsity, free school meals, apples, buns, milk, free hospital and clinic consultations, free nutrition supplements for 0—5yrs, and some free lactogen milk too and medication, free fre free free... This is what led to us where we are.
As a Nigerian i can say this country is clean so clean, the people are calm and there is this innocence in their faces that i see, that looks i rare in my country, but i get it when they dont appreciate what they have cos privilege is blind to those who have it.
A young Ukrainian here, trying to learn more about different countries in Africa and about what life there is about, and your videos are fantastic, thank you so much for all your great work
Let's observe these siblings, leave them alone but observe and emulate them because they've definitely got the discipline that the rest of Africa needs.
Much love from Sierra Leone ❤.
24:31....Indeed. ❤ After watching your travel vlog, I now want to visit Botswana. Beautiful people. Beautiful animals. Beautiful country. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. ❤
"Peace is priceless" couldn't have said it any better. Peace is the foundation everything good could be built on. Great video,Gano. You delivered as usual. Respect from London ❤
Those students at the University of Botswana do not know that that institution was built by Batswana for Batswana...that's a success story. Great leadership comes from that very same institution I think they need to learn to want to know more about where they come from.
Well done for Botswana for getting it right. Every African Country would get it right if there was no WAR or Civil Fighting. 60 years of peace will give time to develop a magnificent country. Burkina Faso is trying to get it right but you can see the foreign powers that are trying to prevent them.
🇬🇲🔥 If you’re Gambian, you’ve probably heard this one already… 👀🎶

“Gambia First” by M.O.B Music is making serious noise right now! 🔥🇬🇲
Have you heard it yet? 👀
Just as a correction: Botswana is NOT home to more elephants than people. We have a population of approx 2.4-2.5 million people, and our elephant population is estimated at 130 000. We did however, have MORE COWS (around 5million)than people, but due to recent FMD outbreaks and other environmental and economic factors, the number has rapidly decreased.
By Allah SWT, I’m genuinely SO PROUD of you brother, I cannot describe how top-notch your videos are! You managed to make me smile through most them and even feel a bit emotional and teary towards the end. It really touches the hole and makes you reflect I believe, regardless of who you are and where you are from. You are truly one of my all-time favourite YouTubers. The content you produced is unique and unmatched. And I remember since the first time I watched came across your videos which was about Nigeria, which was while I was searching up content to aid my geography case study revision of the country, that’s when I found my first and favourite travel vlogger! And as a non-African, your content never fails to open my eyes and learn fascinating phenomenons. So thanks to you, I would have otherwise never known that much about so many African countries, including several that I’ve never even heard the name of! I really hope to travel the world one day and visit all across the amazing continent of Africa too Insha Allah. So please be proud of the fact that you managed to unite people from different places of the world, show them the other side of the world, really achieving the true purpose of content creation! Much support always from the UK.

Wow Caribbean brit spending time per year in Sierra Leone searching for my African roots. Botswana sounds like a dream for the black diaspora living in the global north. Sierra Leone is nice but chaotic from its infrastructures or lack of. A government that actially works for it's people sounds like a dream. I must visit!!
This is based on past information & appearances:

Botswana's economy is facing a severe downturn driven by a collapse in global diamond demand & growing competition from lab-grown alternatives. It's been getting worse since 2024.

The economy has been contracting too.

Provision of public services is becoming increasingly strained.

The government finances
are becoming strained too.

They should have diversified the economy during the past prosperous few decades, but haven't. Now they're in a precarious position.

And the new government has made political promises which can't be funded by the new context Botswana finds itself in.

So, without being negative, there's more to the Botswana story.
How's a Botswanan's perspective on their place in Africa, for example, like the Ethiopian, etc. I'm not thinking themselves much as Africans??
A Nigerian here. If you're Botswanian seeing this, please appreciate what you have. You're lucky to have one of the best people on the continent governing your country.

Other West Africans would only dream of a country like yours. Nowhere is perfect. Yes, some of your government officials might have one or two shortfalls, but trust me when I say this, they're the best on the continent.

I'm not asking that you condone mediocrity, you can always work on the weakness of your government officials, and pressure them to enact stiff punishment for corrupt people.

May God continue to bless our continent and guide our leaders right.
If I was a Nigerian ,Somalian,Zimbabwean ,Congolese and Ethiopian I would definitely move to Botswana. They are so welcoming and friendly. They will not discriminate.I am fixing my visa to move there for life .
BRIGHT IDEA!!: Botswana should start this now. Start training a greater number of doctors, nurses, geologist, and techies to start sending to other stable African countries. Botswanan doctors in Ghana, Rwanda, Namibia, Kenya, Zambia, and Tanzania. This is a start to continental development.
It's good that Botswana young people are demanding more from their government , they expect more, that's what ails Africa we're content with little
Sending a message of joy and strength to our brothers and sisters in the north during these tough times.

May you continue to be the voice of reason in this continent. Rise Botswana Rise!
8:02 isn't that Davido - FEEL IT being played in the vehicle's sound system?
My people! I’m motswana from South Africa 🇿🇦! Lots of batswana( South African version) tribes in SA! South Africa has 2 provinces dedicated to batswana (North West and Northern Cape). Other tribes have 1 province each. Some share(Limpopo)(Mpumalanga).
We share culture, we share language, we share the same food. But spread in two great countries. I can assimilate in a second in Botswana but I’m a visitor. South African Tswana people require passports to go to Botswana. They won’t overstay, batswana (both) are very respectful people. Peaceful!
...Botswana doesn't have more elephants than people. Kindly correct that. We just have the largest population of elephants than any other country across the world at 135,000 elephants species. We have 2.5 million people, more or less the same with our neighbours Namibia...
I don’t think there is any country in the world where students are content with their country’s development 😅 but Ngl Botswana is definitely one of the Africa’s success stories
When they narrate impoverished Africa
What made a continent rich in minerals and resources, which the whole world relies on for resources be impoverished?
If Africa's resources were traded fairly and not exploited by countries benefiting from Africa's resources
Would Africa be impoverished?
Despite Botswana's resources still being exploited
Botswana has come a long way compared to the past
Visit Zimbabwe next, meet the Black farmers benefiting from their land. Also visit its schools like Prince Edward (Harare), Churchill, Convent School which have a world reputation
* I just hyped this video.
Gano, now you know why other Africans dislike Nigerians. While they are being "pole..pole", a Nigerian is in high octane mode, moving fast.
what a unique looking place gabarone is. it looks like some very new town in australia or new zealand. But the land is so incredibly flat. And then you see some grass and its african savannah.
This was so inspiring Gano, thank you! I had only heard the stories about blood diamonds and whatnot and had no idea Botswana had achieved so much spiritual and material wealth. It seems their value system has made all the difference for them.
