Four years of fragile peace in northern Ethiopia has come to an end.
Fighting is underway in three regions, including Tigray.
This week the Tigray People's Liberation Front joined forces with former rivals to create an opposition alliance.
The fighters say they want to overthrow the government in Addis Ababa.
It's the biggest escalation since a peace deal in 2022 ended a civil war.
Some commitments contained in that deal remain unfulfilled.
Both the government and TPLF accuse each other of breaching the terms of the agreement.
What could renewed civil war mean for Ethiopia?
Presenter: Per Nyberg
Guests:
Faisal Roble -- Political analyst who specialises in the Horn of Africa
Jervin Naidoo -- Senior political analyst at Oxford Economics Africa
Martin Plaut -- Co-author of 'Understanding Ethiopia's Tigray War'

🎉I don't understand how these white English men have become the only systematic reporters of war in Ethiopia. They seem to play chess on Ethiopian politics for long time. Disinformation and pushing the rebels and even the peaceful politicians towards endless gambling for which the outcome is already programmed and known to the westerns and few elites or business corporates. They write the script of the drama or movie, select the actors, and direct the show using AI, required support, and everything to the end. In the middle, the youth is suffering for what they do not know.. What a tragedy of this business oriented world!😮

In short people in Amhara,Tigray, Oromia, Afar and other regions were being militarily and economically devastated by the regime backed by the UAE with other imperialist powers and people alongside relevant political groups realized they should fight united and not bow to neocolonialism. AlJazeera and other news souces turned a blind eye to our injustice and act surprised when people fight back.

Ethiopia 🇪🇹 is a fragile fake country that needs to rebuild itself or perish in to the fullest extent. The nations and ethnic groups don’t see themselves as owners of the country
