It does not look like the Abiy administration will survive this time. I think he will go into exile in Northern Nigeria because rumor has it that he was seen at a mosque there last week.

This renewed cycle of violence in Ethiopia is not surprising thing. It was all too predictable like every five years or so. That poverty-stricken and conflict-ridden country has never been in peace with itself and with neighbors for generations, much less of making other meaningful political, developmental and socio-economic progress. It is about time for western meddlers, godfathers and hypocrite do- gooder to call quits . Let things and state building progress take their natural course by allowing all these warring parts and caged oppressed ethnic groups part ways in peaceful manner. No need for more band-aid, halfway solutions and short-term politcal manipulation.

For your viewers to know the reality, the war is initiated by Abiy, in Amhara Land against Amhara Fano. And Tigray and other 6 joined Amhara Fanos fight.. But many reports make it sound like Tigray initiated the war. That is misleading. You all need to know the fact first before misleading your viewers.

Independent international investigators and human-rights organizations documented grave abuses during the 2020–2022 Tigray War, including severe restrictions on humanitarian assistance, widespread conflict-related sexual violence, attacks on civilians, and alleged starvation tactics. The conflict involved Ethiopian federal forces and allied forces, including Eritrean troops and Amhara regional forces and militias. Sudan, meanwhile, received tens of thousands of refugees fleeing the war.

Estimates of the war’s overall death toll vary dramatically, with some estimates reaching into the hundreds of thousands when deaths from combat, hunger, and the collapse of health services are included. Because these figures remain disputed and difficult to verify, they should be presented as estimates rather than established totals.

The devastation of the Tigray War, together with continuing political and armed conflicts involving other parts of Ethiopia, helps explain why groups with historically deep political, ethnic, and territorial disagreements may nevertheless find common ground in opposing Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s government.

To me, that is one of the most striking aspects of the current situation. When former rivals with profound disagreements are willing to put some of those differences aside and cooperate against the same government, it raises an important question about what experiences and grievances brought them to that point.

My own view is that the Ethiopian government’s actions during these years must have created an extraordinary level of devastation, anger, and distrust for such historically divided groups to consider forming an alliance against the prime minister. Their differences have not disappeared, and their motivations may not be identical. But their willingness to cooperate despite those differences says something significant about the depth of the political crisis Ethiopia is facing.

Western countries always protect the incumbent Ethiopian government even if they are killing millions. They only act when the capital is finally invaded by rebels. This has been going on for too long and it's driving many families to risk their lives in crossing the seas into Europe.

It is an old age hydro politics, Egypt pulling its last card to disintegrate Ethiopia...but perhaps in vain this time..Egypt is pushing its luck trying to stop Ethiopia from regaining access to the Red sea ...it is a final showdown between Egypt and Ethiopia..everything in the middle including Eritrea is a symptom ... Fresh water vs sea water..will see what matters the most 👍

BBC was silent for the last 5 or so years because development and peace is not its profits. Now their foot drones TPLF got enough money from them and started the war. BBC doesnt care wheather TPLF win or loose. The important thing is to keep the war goes, the development stagers and the West got happy because when Africans forced to fight one another the wealth goest to the West.
