Sanchez called it a ‘serious incident’. Wrong. This is an unacceptable, horrific tragedy.

In Germany, the trains are almost never on time. In Spain they are and those AVE are super fast - but increasingly deadly. Sad.

In today's control society there should be absolutely impossible that something like this to happen
michaelatkinson7577
Commentator states "2 vehicles derailed" - from in front of pictures of 6 or more that have fallen over or off the rails.....

As things currently stand, an accident of this nature should, in fact, no longer be possible. This fact alone suggests that the situation must be analyzed down to the smallest detail. From a technical perspective, a rear-end collision in rail transport is effectively ruled out today; in other words, without some form of tampering with the safety system—specifically the data infrastructure that underpins this IT security—such an incident is simply impossible. Consequently, the internal data system must have been partially deactivated or &quot;overwritten&quot;—that is, manipulated—through an act of sabotage. While it may sound incredible, given the circumstances—such as the takeover of control over the safety system—this is the only plausible explanation!<br>Perhaps this is precisely the starting point for a forensic investigation.

It is unnerving for rail travelers. The rail authority seems to have a culture of complacency.

doesnt look normal, why so many bad things happened in Europe this month ???

In this moment of profound grief, the people of Pakistan stand in deep solidarity with Spain. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wish a swift recovery to all those injured. If human or system failure is found in such a major incident, all those responsible should be punished.

Truly unfortunate ! They should also check to make sure there system wasn&#39;t compromised by outside hackers of electronic equipment .

Way too early??? There is no ERTMS on that track according to the ERTMS website. With ERTMS this would be impossible. There would be no injured or diseased and everybody would have continued their journey happily to its end destination. Having no ERTMS on highspeed rail is devastating dangerous in my opinion and shouldn&#39;t be allowed at all throughout the whole of Europe. It should be a prerequisite for all high speed and busy tracks. My heart goes out to all affected by this unnecessary &#39;accident&#39;.

I’m surprised DW didn’t think to suggest that the most likely cause of the accident was Russian sabotage—and just like that, the mystery is solved.

This really needs a strong review - it is unacceptable to have trains crashing in 2026.

Why Spain have train crashes every single year since the Coronavirus years? This never happens every single year in France, Italy, Greece or Germany.
