Apple officially turned to just a middleman, charging way more for insignificant gimmicks they added to what's already out there.
Every one of these Apple glazers always run through all the shitty things and then inevitably say "putting all that aside...." and say it's the best thing ever.

I am going for the duo. I have a lot of iOS games that sometimes my last gen iPad mini is not good enough for or it can only do it on low settings and with this I can finally have my phone and my iPad for gaming with one single device. Fuck how awesome to play grid legends and San Andreas comfortably and then pair that up with steam link.

The foldable I like the idea ever since I heard about it on the Android side for a couple of years now.. I have an iPad myself.. the same one I been using since 2016 (10 years) and I noticed in gaming and productivity?? is just better than a standard phone... so a hybrid would've been good. HOWEVER I prioritize longevity in things I own, and foldables continue to be the antithesis of that, the crease will only get worse as you use it, its a physics material limit, the reparability is also incredibly difficult, too many downsides, sure if you have the money you may not care at all, but for me the downsides are too numerous.
Dude! You just said a deal-breaker here: iPhone 18 Pro and iPad Air, or just a duo... This is a hard decision to make... really hard. 2K price for a phone that's also MacBook Pro laptop
Nothing to be sorry about here, at all. Android people will mostly continue getting Android phones, and Apple people will do the same with Apple phones. There is nothing within the "Apple ecosystem" that interests me in the slightest, so the whole "battle" that you "tech chaps" keep on insisting on raising is just useless static. I represent the perspective of how Samsung made seven generations of folding phones, and I wasn't interested in any of those "in the slightest," either. It was the Z Fold 8 that interested me enough to buy one, and there are all sorts of things I like about it, while the Apple duo has nothing that interests me. The Samsung and Apple ecosystems are vastly different from each other, and THANK GOD FOR THAT. I like the way Samsung does things, I've been using them since the first, original Galaxy Note, and the Z Fold 8 continues to work in the way I expect a Samsung phone to work. Like millions of people all over the planet, I won't be running over to Apple because of this phone, or any other thing Apple cooks up.

The weights and issue if holding it to game, the task bars right where you hold it your pay extra for the pen and case to house the pen. The under screen selfie can mess up the picture that's why samsung dumped it. However the battery crease and material seems better. But is it worth the money is any phone worth 2000 quid

I am also more tempted than I thought I would be. I use my actual phone (the phone in iPhone part) a lot. I need to know what that experience is going to be like. Can I hold it between my ear and shoulder? How easy is it to answer if it’s unfolded? What’s the experience like just holding it in my hand up to my ear? I think that will be the deal breaker or maker for me. Before the announcement I was thinking, why would anyone want a phone that folds 🙄 but now 🤔
Thanks Apple. Buying APPL on money I earned washing dishes and busing at restaurant in my 20s really paid off. I does not matter if you earn minimum salary , keep buying and investing for long term. Now I am in my late 50s and flying business class on vacations.

I’m absolutely upgrading to the Duo. I live watching series and movies but only do it at home on my Vision Pro or iPad. When I’m out and about I feel the iPhone (even the pro max) screen is too small to watch shows on. <br><br>With the duo, I would be much more inclined to watch them when away from home

Get the Duo. You already use actual cameras for your footage so you don’t need the Pro. Try the Duo as it may be more useful for you with editing video or sending emails or planning shoots etc

People are only wowed by how it looks when it opens. Everything about this device: if it was another company, they would thrash it.<br>- It's heavy.<br>- It's not symmetrical.<br>- Half of the phone is square, half of the phone is round.<br>- It only has two cameras.<br>- It doesn't have a telephoto.<br><br><br>Where is all this backlash that they were giving all these other foldables? Where is all the backlash now? Now it's just Apple's turn, and here Apple does the same thing: they release it at a starting price of $2,000. Not to mention that the 2 TB model is $3,200. Nobody's mentioning that. Nobody's mentioning that it has an under-display camera. If it was another company, "Oh, they put an under-display camera. It's the worst thing in the world." Not Apple. People are only wowed by this doggone way it looks when it opens. What does it do? Where are the specs? What is the RAM? On top of that, they copied the Xiaomi 18 Fold. It looks just like the Xiaomi 18 Fold. Nobody's mentioning how Apple copied that.

I'm always going to use whatever phone the carrier will give me for free. It's just not that serious. And I don't understand the form factor being convenient. Too chunky. I don't carry a purse.

Here's a few extra thoughts:<br>- Yes it has magsafe/wireless charging<br>- Some cases add kickstands (very welcome addition), but will add even more weight<br>- Upcoming Apple Pencil support is older USB-C model without pressure sensitivity (boo)<br>- Duo's Main 48MP Camera is equivalent to iPhone 17/Air<br>- Matte Screen is a bit too 'matte' for my taste :/
