I've never owned an iPhone and the first thing I noticed was that animation, it's insanely good and convincing. I'll give Apple props when they do something right, and I hate a lot of what they do lol

People are ready to forgive 250 gms weight. Pathetic front facing camera just because it's Apple and calls other foldables as years of mediocre devices. If Apple was so good it could have come up with a good foldable in 2019 itself. Dave all foldables from 2025 have been really good. If Apple being the most resourceful company did not make a good foldable in 2026 it would have been a shame. Note- That opening animation was copied within a day by Zfold fanboys.

I am overall impressed, I see one issue that is similar to the issue I’ve seen on iPhones for years though, the orientation being incorrect when you rotate the phone. No reason why the game should be upside down on the front screen when closing it and not rotating it to the way it should until the fancy blur animation had played entirely.<br><br>Maybe you’d call it nitpicking but Apple is supposed to be the one that makes the most polished experience possible, so they should fix it. I do wish you could have this user experience on iPad, they totally destroyed the multitasking experience when using touch and just never bothered to fix it, really regret updating whenever that was (iPadOS 26?) so haven’t considered getting another iPad since then. Wouldn’t trust them to not fuck this up with an update the same way in a few years.
YOU NAILED IT. Android frustrates me to hell and back. Android software development doesn’t go far enough to making it this good compared iOS software development. It’s making boil inside. Years and years of accepting it and thinking that’s most you can get from software experience and BOOM , Apple crashes that thinking and says YES YOU CAN MAKE A BETTER SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE.

I switched to android from Apple a little while ago because I was frustrated with the lack of hardware upgrades but they've really bounced back. The android experience while more free feels much less polished and pleasurable to use. On an iPhone apps are just so well integrated and smooth, and because of this when you switch to android UI you notice every little discrepancy and it just builda. Even little things like the camera display being lower quality than the final image, or Instagram have worse formatting. Especially as someone with OCD, apple is the way for me. Their new ceo is a mechanical engineer which I am as well so that's cool.

So apple's defense for notch was face ID is more secure than touch ID. So, now the the Iphone Duo is less secure?<br><br>As Apple has made it, so nobody will talk about the size of the punch hole.<br><br>And the width of the device when folded, I don't know is it practically useable by one hand.
On the camera if they added another hundred dollars to put the best cameras on there, they would’ve blown up the market
I care so little about non-apple products that this is the first foldable phone I’m really noticing in the market. I find it very interesting. <br><br>My question is, what the hell do you do with it? What is the use case? How am I going to enjoy this in ways (that are worth the added cost as well as compromise) I cannot enjoy my iPhone Pro Max? Also, I have to give up my telephone lens. That kind of sucks considering this is more expensive. Should we assume there will be a Duo Pro or Duo Pro Max coming in the future for even more insane money?

People keep focusing on the opening animation on a £2000 phone. If you look closely, it flickers between the screen blurring and then back to clear if you want to fold it slighly but not shut it, not seen anyone mentioned that.<br><br>Also 250g is heavy, too heavy for a lot of people for one-handed use.

Um, what's the point?<br>Most people are completely fine with a phone with one screen that does it all easily with one hand when they are out and about.<br>And if you're at home and can afford something like this you almost certainly already have something with an even BIGGER screen like a MacBook, iPad or a Mac with a big monitor.
Switched from Iphone to Oppo foldable, and felt the REAL next gen.<br><br>Camera, battery, screen, speakers.. a step up from Iphone and Samsung.<br>After this, I learned not to trust YT reviews.<br>Wake up people, these guys are paid to sell you lies.

The 2nd or 3rd gen will be no compromise. This one should have been 1499... and a pro model for 1999 that matches the other pro models in every respect. Including video playback batt life and cameras. This needs to be the case for the 2nd gen. Maybe they update the fold every other gen or something. Also an air pro 2nd gen really needs to be special. With state of the art battery tech and cameras. Also the pro air being 1499 would be acceptable.
I believe you have not used Oppo and Huawei newer foldable phones. The experience is great and product quality is top notch. Apple's new "innovations" is only the folding animation and the matte inner screen.
No telephoto lens is a deal breaker. Otherwise iPhone Duo looks nice but expensive at $2000

I'm on the T-Mobile jump so every year I upgrade there's no point in paying off a phone cuz it becomes obsolete in 2-3 years so I will likely switch to this apple Duo even tho I am not a fan on apple iOS I think it's very redundant with security features and very limiting compared to Android but this Duo phone looks really good I have had the Z fold 6 and 7 now so big fan of the foldables looking forward to getting hands on we shall see
As an android user this is the first time I've ever thought of switching to apple
As a Oneplus Open user since its launch, all if not most of these features are already available. "Games crashing when folding on android" is not true at all on the Oneplus Open. I play Zenless Zone Zero as well as other games like CoD Mobile, Genshin Impact etc. None of them crashes and transitions to the new aspect very smoothly as well, whether I'm folding or opening. Not just games, all apps function this way.<br><br>Although I'm not looking to upgrade yet as it's still very powerful, I have yet to find a better folding phone to upgrade mine, imo The Oneplus Open with Oxygen OS is the best one that ever came at this moment.

When other companies were busy innovating and creating a foldable phone from the scratch apple was just sitting there and copying from them without putting any effort. Then bringing in a bunch of software improvement that could be carried over to other foldables in the future suddenly becomes "the apple way"... Amazing how easy people judge just by what they see.

The are using A0 paper ratio for screen they could have made it little bigger and use A6 when it is folded and A5 when it is open but for now it is too small for now I am happy with fold 8 ultra
