If I ever get one of the Duo’s future generations maybe after my 17 Pro starts getting old, I’m definitely gonna consider one of those folio cases.
With the folio case, it seems you can't view yourself anymore when taking a selfie with the front camera. Its either going to cover the screen or cover the camera lens.
Asked and answered. Thank you! The case is one of the first questions I asked when I saw this new phone. I like that silver side piece showing so I prefer the 1st case ! I just know Moft will make a fire origami case for this phone! (Or I hope so because the iPad one I have from them is worth every single penny!)<br><br>But now I realize if you get this phone you’ll need a screen protector for the outside and I inside screen! <br><br>And I feel like mag pop sockets will be awkward when the phone is open in landscape !

You should show more of the kickstand how it doesn’t allow access to the front screen unless you open a very flimsy flat!<br>That flat will be in the way 90% of the time when you just need to use the front screen!
That “invisible” crease is going to become very prominent after a few months use. Also, the camera sucks on it and it’s a weird shape for the screen.

Hard pass on covering the front screen. That flap will constantly get in the way and render half the features of the phone useless

I hate that I like this... I want to buy it just because of how intuitive the folio case is, but im definitely not lol
love the kickstand one covering the screen + hinge; so I can keep it together with other items but the screen/hinge will protected from dirt/scratches. <br><br>just need option to add a strap which is very useful when standing in a crowded subway; been using the strap all the time with my iphone 17 pro max.
There are better cases one I seen similar to the kick stand one but without the screen cover and with a graphite carbon texture
This will be my first iPhone to go naked. The cases make it too thick. Get AppleCare and enjoy it.

We have come full circle. My first iOS device for the iPod Touch, and I had a "book" cover for that, then for my second device, the iPad 2. I'd probably go with the folio to have the screen protection, but what I haven't seen anyone address is whether that front cover is loose when opened, or if it magnetically attaches to the back.
How can there not be an accommodation for the pencil?

The folio case is nice but what happens when you want to take a picture? You cannot flip the front cover to the back as it will cover the lense. Same for when you want to pay quickly with apple pay...

I use my iPhone Air case less and have since launch. If I didn’t already use my iPad Mini for everything this would be really attractive, I like the Duo. I feel like a not a lot of people are going to have this phone though. I do see it as a good phone for travelers and influencer type people, maybe even older folks who don’t like carrying around an iPad as well.
The folio case will allow for stuff to get stuck between the case and the hinge. Not good

I am underwhelmed by these cases - but Apple tends to have good case concepts - even if they are "safe" or "simple."<br><br>The Duo seems like a bit of a chonky boy when folded. <br><br>I am willing to deal with it because I really want an iPad with me, but often only can carry the phone... this lets me cross that gap.<br><br>Regardless, I will be waiting to buy until December or January - it is a "1.0" device, and the entire tech industry has abad record with those. So I want to see what customer sentiment is from early adopters.<br><br>Also - nothing is really wrong with my current iPhone Pro Max, I just want the bigger screen available.

So how are you supposed to use the front screen with that case on?
Love the folio but only downside it you can't use the front screen to see yourself if you're taking a picture with the back camera's, you essentially have to remove it for those moments

That's not a phone. That is a foldable iPad with telephone service capabilities. Nice job in presenting the cases. I bought AIR precisely because I need to have something lighter. I am sure al ot of people will buy this foldable mutant.
How do you actually put the thing to your ear with the second case?
WARNING, I might have found the Duo deal breaker: <br>Both 18 Pros have this advanced heat guard built into it. My iPhone 14 overheats really bad in the car in the hot months. It’s a big problem. It slows down so much that it’s like dial up and I have to place my 14 in front of the AC vent to cool it down, so I can run at fast speeds again. I could cook an egg on my iPhone 14! AND the Duo could overheat a lot too. The Duo does not have that advanced heat technology!! Which could be a big problem for me in the car! But besides this one issue, I am really hooked with the Duo! But the heat could be awful! It’s a big phone! The heat could be catastrophic!
Love the folio case. It really makes it look like an Executive Notebook (just a digital one).
The question should be is it right for you? I would upgrade to the 18 Pro from 16 Pro Max because of the new camera features and also going for the smaller size screen because it is more pocketable.

Cool concept, questionable value, and an authentication design that may create unnecessary usability problems.
Will it still wobble if using the big screen flat on a desk with the pencil? Another rib at the bottom of the kickstand could be a solution.

The big no for me is the camera. Really need it to catch up to their Pro Max series. No telephoto lens is a crime.

As to iPhone duo… hmm It’s really nice gadget but, that price… it’s so high that I can throw in few euros and buy fresh MacBook Pro with additional ram instead. I rather buy iPhone Pro especially as they updated colors of Pro lineup - silver is finally whole silver (not white) and we got 18 Pro in BLACK! Yes! This is my next iPhone 😊
I HATE how much I like the folio case. I typically like using my iPhones caseless but this one is so attractive and it just makes sense.
Cases ruin the experience, just a screen protector for the front one would be enough.
Apple is back to its senses, and they released the iPhone 18 Pro in BLACK! I’m finally placing an order. I skipped the 17 Pro because of its horrible colors - that orange version haunted me in nightmares, 17 Pro silver wasn’t actually silver it had that huge white patch on back. <br>This time Apple really listened to us - customers and they updated colors - making silver fully silver with color matched back (if 17 Pro had that look I might consider buying it. As it would match my MacBook Pro and Studio Display :D) and adding black version that I really waited for.
I see so many things that could go wrong with this
I like both cases just wish they had more color options. Because of the limited colors I will likely be going with a third party case!
