I would have to disagree Trevor, about Michael Jackson. What happened was the movie came out and suddenly a resurgence of interest in him - people like me who were fans since the 80s discovered new content we never knew about thanks to the internet, about the allegations. As fans we went through this information. As did new fans, Gen Z who just discovered him. I 'grappled' in the 90s when these allegations came out, and the info from the press was clearly biased (in hindsight now that there;s more info). I grappled again with the info new to me: court transcripts, interviews et al, s I think a lot of fans did with this resurgence of interest. So no, we did not go into it blindly. There's a tonne of information that has been distorted by the press, by haters. So after grappling ... I came to the conclusion that no, I cannot see him as an abuser. On one hand you have baseless "allegations" by victims strongly directed by parents. And now, "allegations" years later from people who stood up for him, vouched for him in court and now citing "grooming" - on the other hand there is absolutely no evidence of this whatsoever. And last but not least, every single victim has asked for money. They have also tried to extort money, forged MJ's material for money .... I'm just sorry that he trusted the wrong people.

I love the health chat perhaps it was cut out or not said. Skinny ain't healthy but I understood coming from where I come from. But it's important that people don't just think squeeze the steak it puts you off, throw the cake you're building a behaviour and mentality. No human is the same to the next. But everything was true and unless you have disordered eating and an eating problem you can change when you decide you have a problem that requires discipline.

Trevor's insights on grappling was very insightful. From my understanding of his words, grappling is about seeing all the different sides of a cube, not just seeing one bad side and then dismissing the whole cube as a bad cube, and vice versa. And even the side of the cube that is seen as a "bad" thing can also be understood. Not encouraged or condoned. Just understood. Maybe grappling on the colonisation of South Africa will reveal some sides that even our textbooks aren't showing us.

Will's cadence reminds me of a specific NYer from the 90's, the energy, how tapped in he is, and how earnest/silly. I love when he stops by! The Rihanna lyrics gone wrong kills me softly. Bring him back, quarterly!

On a serious note, I deeply appreciated the grappling point. Its true, grappling faded away with our commodified attention and unfortunately that means we do always have the capacity or stamina to stay with the hard truths. Opinion is valued higher and critical thinking is evaded-- I think this stifles us culturally.

I also enjoyed the unpacking of kindness in the story Will shared about the woman that dogged his body after a celebratory moment. There's never a good reason to bring someone down during a moment of deserved high. I think it was a generous for Trevor and Eugene to explain how the comment was inappropriate due to its unkind nature.

I always love when Will is on! I love that they spent so long on the shock moment, because I feel like it is true for so many. That along with building up your mental willpower is a powerful combination. Not a cure all, and it takes continuous repetitions like anything, but can definitely help so much in life (I only base this on my personal experience and the limited reading I have done throughout my progress). Awesome as always!

We have a monsoon season and an average of 30 degrees Celsius all year long, which sometimes maybe dips to 25 in January for a day or two max (Will you can layer up then because Singaporeans take their one opportunity to break out any winter jackets they have too). Trevor, the choice to take a glp1 drug for weight loss is more complex than either not caring, or not having the money. This is a drug that if you start taking it you must always take it going forward. That's a problem. Even with the subsidy available now in the US, it is very expensive. But there is no reason to think that it will always be subsidized. If you start now, and find a way to afford it, then suddenly the cost has gone up and you can't but it any longer, what happens then? There are even more considerations to it also.
