Again the same morons running around the pitch with the whistles, are are the same morons in the VAR room. These people are clueless. We need refs that have played the game.
What can we do!? Look at spain Player can get away with murder! There will be more players getting kill during the game because of double standard of refereeing start from the world cup
Definately wreckless sure I saw a similar tackle on James Justin not long ago , no red card. Couldn’t be mad if bogle was sent off , mistimed tackle but it’s the consistency that’s the issue for me.
Guys come on your not all stupid, lol there is a PROFESSIONAL that’s studied the laws of football, has reviewed the footage in slow motion, it’s impossible to get the decision wrong. Bought and paid for. Football has gone.
whether he gives the red or not, how can they review that for 4 minutes, see what we all saw, and not ask the ref to take a second look? if he doesn't give it, he doesn't give it... but to not even call him to the monitor is outrageous! 😂
It was a red. How he never even got a yellow is joke! So for sure Leeds should have probably been down to 10 men. <br>Having said that, if you ignore that shocking VAR incompetence, then you must acknowledge Leeds were the better team. <br>Spurs have a long way to go but clearly they are improving, Leeds away is a cauldron. <br>Good luck to Leeds for rest of season (except in return fixture). Tottenham players need to learn from the Leeds team heart and desire. <br>A proper ‘team’ and club.
Is the referee on hard narcotics? <br>How can he allow Bogle to get away with it? <br><br>That was a career threathening injury what a shocker. <br><br>I feel soo sorry for Mathis Tel because that foul totally changed the dynamics of the game. <br><br>Tottenham never recovered from this Tel Injury. That is absolutely crazy what the foolish referee did. <br><br>Tel has worked so hard to reach this form and the foolish tackle ruined everything for the young man. Now this set back is going to throw him four steps back
Are they unsure or are they taking 4 minutes to find a way to not give it. If the obvious is a red card then to take 4 minutes is you trying to find a way or a unseen reason not to give it and that's telling something
Once again are the referees and VAR in the Premier League proving how extremely bad they are at their job.<br>Howard Webb should be sacked as he has not improved PGMOL, the refereeing or VAR at all.<br>He has totally failed at his job and it is long overdue for someone else coming in to have a go and making this better and it needs to be much much better than it is now.<br>It is so extremely bad now that I totally understand why some or maybe even many fans think it is corruption.<br>I don't think it is corruption, but I seriously find it strange how they manage to be so bad at refereeing and how Howard Webb still has his job.<br>There is EXTREMELY much money in the Premier League and the clubs have many millions of fans and them still not able to have better refereeing is in reality embarrassing and a total fiasco.
The very same ref, sent off Xavi Simmons for a red that was a similar challenge to this and didnt give any card to Delap for breaking Djed Spence's jaw. This ref has something against Spurs fact!
if that was a foul on an Arsenal or a Reds player it would be a sending off ! No intention to get the ball - did not look at the ball ! The intent was to brutally stop the Tel !
Brooks has given spurs 37 yellows and 4 reds in 15 matches while opposing sides have had 11 yellows and 0 reds (one for okafor taking his shirt off), he is biased and should be barred from reffing Tottenham in the future, Maybe even investigated
The refs should be held responsible for decisions.. Its not about the speed of the tackle.. You can clearly see that Bogle put his planting foot on Tel's achilles.. Almost Bogle's entire body weight was on Tel's achilles.. You don't need speed when an entire human weight falls at a point with direct studs
What gets me is the explanation from VAR they just regurgitate what they see no explanation no reasoning. What law of the game did they reference (none) which criteria for a red did they check (none) 5 mins of var to show incompetence.
Wondering what the point of VAR is if this "video review" didn't meet the standard for the ref to go to the monitor? I know Spurs filed a complaint but really the Premier League should intervene.
FOUR MINUTES of faffing about and they didn't even send the ref to the MONITOR? That is shocking. Somebody sees red for that challenge every weekend.
Why does no one know the rules ? Focus on Safety, Not Intent: According to the International Football Association Board (IFAB) Laws of the Game and Premier League Serious Foul Play guidelines, a challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force is punishable by a straight red card, even if the player claims or proves they did not mean to commit a foul
There was enough force to break Tel’s ankle. Bogle even thought he was getting sent off. He couldn’t believe it. Then he almost had an assist right after while Tel was off the pitch. He was rewarded for breaking Tel’s ankle.
I've only seen a clip of the tackle, but the refereeing, in other matches I've watched this season, has been embarrassing. The premier league likes to say they are the best league in the world.... With the worst referees. Even with video they are useless.
I have to say I was astonished by the whole incident involving Bogle's reckless stamp on Matius Tel. Firstly because it was clear and obvious that the Leeds defender caught Tel both late whilst clearly not even being close to touching the ball. Secondly because the ref not only had a clear view of the incident itself, but judged this to not even being a yellow in his initial assesement in the aftermath of the foul. Then the very fact that VAR took over four minutes in which it looked at the same view of the offence multiple times which clearly showed Bogle stamp down with full studs on the back of Tel's ankle with force. This may well have been accidental, however it was still a fundamentally late and reckless challenge, which ultimately saw Tel being forced to retire from the game early due to his injury from Bogles challenge. I think it is criminal that those officiating VAR itself in this moment were derelict in not even recommending the referee looked at the video evidence to make a final call, because I am certain had he done so he would have realised that this was a straight red offence without question. <br><br>It Irks me to think this actually enabled Leeds win today because they should never have finished the game with eleven men. It Irks me also that the notable inconsistancy of the referees own decisions here were by any standards both weak and appalling. <br><br>All that said and done however, Tottenham's own overall performance today was by and large affectively poor and unacceptable. They never truly got going during the course of the entire game, and due to the manner in which they allowed Leeds to control the second half itself, it came as no great surprise to me that Leeds were able to snatch victory with a single goal; one that you could literally feel and see was eventually coming. Today's hugely disappointing result merely illustrates that Tottenham are still hugely vulnerable to insipid tame performances and collapse, and that they lack the real fighting spirit necessary to can garauntee they are truly moving upwardly in the right way!
Listen who’s to say whether we would’ve gotten a result either way given how poor we were on the day but the fact that it wasn’t even a yellow is disgraceful.
These old people are such hypocrites. Where was this energy and honesty about Nyoni during the Liverpool/Arsenal match? Always talking out of both sides of their mouths. Like we don't have a record of them speaking. Anyway, such an easy red to give.
It wasn’t intentional but come on even someone who doesn’t understand football knows that’s a red card.. We all enjoy bantering Spurs but this was a ridiculous decision
I thought he was filming at first because a real injured player doesn't move. Then the replay clearly showed how the ankle was twisted and the offense reckless. The refs must explain that unintentional offence does not negate or soften reckless offense. The focus must be on the outcome, the player was felled. Refs should explain that to the players before every game and the games will have less offenses and less protests. Football should give the same authority to refs as in Rugby, where protests are not allowed.
Confusion from commentators would clear up by looking at the words in the rules.<br><br>Under the rules, careless is a foul, no cards; reckless is a yellow; and excessive force is a red. By identifying it as reckless rather than excessive, it’s being defined as a yellow card offense. Since ref on field gave no cards, and you can’t award a yellow after a VAR review, and since it wasn’t excessive … No red. No yellow can be retrospectively awarded. Play on. <br><br>Do commentators think it was excessive force? Clearly that’s debatable - and that’s where the speed of play, and determination about what Bogle is doing - just planting his foot to make a tackle with the other foot - comes in. Maybe a reckless challenge, but not excessive.
I was watching Gary and Phil Neville defending this on NBC Sports and couldn't believe what I was hearing!! Sure it was accidental but nonetheless a red card offence. And to not give him a yellow at all was unbelievable!
The tackle was worst than many many of the straight red card. And referee didn’t even give a yellow.<br>Bogle plant his stud down on Tel. Nowhere near the ball. Very reckless and dangerous.<br>That was more a red than yellow. But referee gave none.<br><br>I understand the rule is that only an clear and obvious error that VAR can intervene.<br>So whenever VAR call the referee to the monitor for a review, 95% of the time referee will have to agree and overturn his initial call. <br>The game should change.<br>Let referee make the call himself to review the incident in the monitor.<br>If referee wasn’t sure, he can ask the VAR he would like to review the incident himself.
These clowns in VAR and the referees in premier league are just a joke they have never played the game in any capacity at all , Pgmol VAR have killed the game more questions than answers it's an utter farce .
im not a spurs fan. this is the easiest red card i have ever seen, especially with a break this long, its absolutely astounding this wasnt reviewed properly. Coupled with the allegetions agaisnt City this just 100% undermines the integrity of this league, you cannot be this incompetent, its impossible, this one had to be rigged. It's open boot, from behind, on the ankle and they had 10 minutes to review this off the break during the game. Truly outrageous. The ref didn't even look at it on his fruity little monitor.
Nice to put Spurs back in their box...over performing so far ;) We should have had a pen, 3-0 would have been fair. ALAW, MOT and up to 8th. Soft Southerners heading South with nowt except injuries and tears ;)
Getting sick and tired of the incompetence...........it wasn't just the lack of red card that was bad enough, but the ref didn't even consider a yellow for the challenge that he and everybody saw.........I didn't see the stamp on the achilles initially, but clattering into Tel should have been a minimum yellow, considering the previous yellows given in the game. The lack of consistency is infuriating.
You can definitely look at the other calls this season as a reference. Not one odd decision. <br>We want consistency, not a foul on Saturday but not on Sunday, maybe a foul on Monday
