Commercial refrigeration has been automated for years. The benefits are obvious, lower cost, temperature control and analysis. You can spot a freezer before it fails. WTF is the point of computerising fridges and freezers in shops when defrosting can be done by staff and makes more sense because the stock has to be manually checked anyway? SO let me get this straight... they have their freezers hooked up to the internet, so that they can monitor temperatures. Presumably, these systems have alarms? Analogue alarms should have gone off, with security cameras picking this up overnight by surveylance companies. And I highly expect that the store manager is quite capable of getting an alert on his phone when something is wrong with his store - such as temperature changes. If the internet hookup and software does NOT do this... frankly just disconnect from the internet because it sure as hell is a pointless device.

Why must we up grade & depend on a cyber system which is vulnerable to a costly financial loss ? <br>I was recently at a Dutch sauna locker which had an expensive Digital up grade. It was rather complicating to ebter a secret pin & took longer ( because I am not computer savy & had to ask for assistance ). The previous system of just securing my clothing & wallet was easy with a key . Hence, if there was a power cut, the sauna will have to close because patrons have no way of keeping their valuables secure. .... When the old simple, cheap system still works why computerise ???
