IMHO, Europe is talking itself into a war with Russia. Most all of the alleged drone sightings turn out to be actually regularly scheduled manned aircraft (proven by ADSB tracks) or just hobby drones. Paranoia is good for business if you're a politician, it grants you license to do things in the name of "national security" that normally would not be acceptable to the public. Call me a cynic but I don't think Russia is in any position (militarily or politically) to launch an offensive against Europe/NATO.

The media doesn't help of course because they just want clicks on links, eyes on stories and ears on broadcasts because that's money in the bank.

Nobody does that, you would not see any TV news anchors doing a report where they literally share every second line of the same sentence of a scripted news report. That’s just weird. These old mainstream media outlets think people want to hear a duet-style news report.

Putin does not need to fight on the second front in Europe. The objective is not a prolonged action, but a short excursion under the same premise as used in Ukraine in 2014 (oh, our troops lost their bearings during exercises and somehow ended up 60 kilometres into Ukraine) followed by hesitation from NATO and cowardly calls for investigation if these are indeed Russian troops and tanks beyond any doubt with solid proof, then a few weeks later followed by a call to make diplomatic efforts to resolve an obvious innocent navigational error of Russian troops ending up in Latvia or Estonia or both countries. And that would spell the end of NATO without a single shot fired. Triumphant Putin holding NATO's severed head in his hand. Jobs done, NATO out, get back to Ukraine with vanished NATO support.
@@EuropeanflyImported1mo ago
Russia have never been weaker. There is no way Russia would prefer a war with NATO. We don't give Ukraine offensive weapons, still Russia is losing ground. The Russian armed forces are in shambles, only impressing in incompetence. We don't need 5% for defence. We need 2,5% for defence and 1% for Ukraine. That's it. Why should the traitor Trump decide over us? Liberal NATO without Trump and Erdogan is over 3 times stronger than Russia.
