Collin says he was in a wand for 2 years and that nothing was wrong with him. So why not go after them for false imprisonment, instead of playing out his accusations of his mother in public. Why didn’t someone call animal control on him and his mother to get proof?

poor choice of person to interview. his mother visited him once in the 2 years he was confined? there are records supporting his claims. CPS also dropped the ball. Collin needs support, not some naysayer about how hard it would be to proceed. there is evidence of abusive to him - some on film for years.

In the very first picture there are only 7 kids, the babies were maybe 8 months? Collin is already separated from the others at that young age, but Kate says he was violent.... AS AN INFANT KATE??!
Kate's own diary has been found and leaked that proves that she did all those awful things. She is a monster and she knows it according to her own diary. In her diary she wrote how she pulled their hair, lock them in a dungeon, hit one of her toddlers so hard that it scared even her and then threw the toddler into the crib. But did she stop the abuse ? No, she ramped it up and she even stated that she sent one of her children away after years of her locking him in the basement. She is a horrible awful person and she deserves to sit underneath the jail.

This is just my opinion and it comes from personal experience. I think we need to stop saying “there are two sides” or “the real truth lies somewhere in between”. To me these lean towards victim blaming, and does send a message to victims that we don’t believe you. <br><br>By the time victims have the courage to speak they are trying so hard to get someone to believe them the last thing they want to do is lie. I’m guessing if most are like me, they try to be as detailed as possible so people believe them or someone can find evidence to back up their story. That’s how I am, yes certain things my brain has purposely not let me remember, no matter how hard I tried I can’t remember exactly what words were spoken, but I know how I felt in that moment. <br><br>I believe Colin and his version IS 100% the truth. I hope if he knows that we believe him this can bring about some kind of healing for him. I wish I could take that pain away from him, but I know I can’t so the least I can do is believe him and hope that helps ease the pain he’ll have to carry the rest of his life.
I know you have to be “proper” but this is not 😮”ALLEGED”. What? HE WAS IMPRISONED FOR 21 Months at a place that held people for only weeks. Plenty of people witnessed the signs and child protective services were called at that home multiple times. Things happened. Collin is a hero. I can’t listen to this crap.

I hope there would be a trial where Kate and and facility would need to testify to their behavior and all the medications they put him on. They gave no answers to Collin when he asked 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t see why an 11 year old child can’t have an explanation let alone informed consent to their own treatment plan. Also, a trial would set the precedent that institutions can’t just hold kids without telling them why they’re there. There’s a lot to answer for.

I absolutely believe him 💯!! Collin’s name has always stuck with me throughout the show. I always felt that she treated him differently than the other kids. If how she was on the show is her real personality, I can see why Jon wanted out. I do hope his future days, weeks, months & years ahead are better & he has happiness ahead as well. <br><br>I’m glad he is an adult now and can make his own decisions. I watched the show but not every single one, as some episodes had me really not liking Kate. I would change the channel.
There’s no middle ground here. Even if it’s true what she says, that doesn’t excuse child abuse and dropping him off at a facility only to return once in 22 months. And, btw, not telling dad or asking him for help as well.
Kate sounds a little stesssed and unhinged in her posts. Maybe she needs to be checked in to a mental facility against her will where her boyfriend can visit her once in 20 mths. hope Kate and the 'medical professionals' are held accountable.
Ultimately this needs to go through the courts because he said-she said proves nothing. Where are the witnesses, records and receipts? I can’t believe either side is telling the FULL truth, until we get some hard evidence.

It is wild to me that people continue to claim this show seemed normal. As a kid I knew Kate was verbally abusive and physically towards Jon. Emotionally absent from her kids. Exploiting weird things like potty training and more. I knew it was weird and inappropriate back when.

Kate's public comments are what threw Colin out of his professional dream to join the Marines -because of her public comments out in the media, he was unable to finish Marine Corp boot camp (his drill sergeants and fellow marines fought to have him stay. Her words have had true LIFE consequences in terms of Colin's career!
The fact that Kate admits to keeping him in the basement away from siblings, his dad, and putting in an institution visiting only once is wild to me. Makes you think what she doesn't admit to. 😬

I remember watching this show with my mom when I was a teenager and I noticed then how emotionally & verbally abusive Kate was to Jon. So her mistreating/abusing the children isn't hard to fathom!

Kate will get her day. Her world is crumbling. When the kids recover their backbone, I hope they sue her for their trust fund that she spent.
Kate signed contracts in which she guaranteed the participation and "performance" of ALL her Children. In it it stipulated that payments could be withheld if any of the children failed to perform and she could potentially be sued for breach of contract. The only exception was if it were due to medical or mental health reasons. I believe this is what originally led Kate to began building the mental health narrative when Collin began to push back on filming. But the mental and physical abuse began when he was just a toddler. She wrote in her journal in 2006 that she couldn't connect with Collin. When he was only 2 she wrote that she'd lose control spanking him as hard as she could, then slam him into his crib. She said that she was afraid she'd seriously hurt him. And as a narcissitic parent, that lack of connection to Collin is what I believe led to him becoming the scapegoat child. I'm convinced the mental health narrative originally began because it would protect her paycheck and contract, but it also became a new and escalating means of inflicting abuse on the scapegoat child. A child it sounds as though (baaed on her journal) she'd always felt contempt for.
Jon's ex girlfriend who Collin calls mom is a psychiatric nurse practitioner. She helped wean him off all the medications under the guidance of a doctor. He has plenty of receipts and Kate knows she hasn't a leg to stand on. I kind of feel sorry for her because her ish finally hit the fan. I watched the show. I believe Collin. She will fear discovery in any criminal case.

The fact that this poor kid had to write a whole book just to clear his name against his own mother is heartbreaking. We watched this unfold on TV and knew something was wrong. Jon was right to get him out. Believe Collin. ....
