Singapore has sufficient gas supply to meet its demand after Indonesia announced gas export cuts, Minister for Energy, Trade and Industry (Energy and Industry) Tan See Leng told reporters on Sunday (Oct 25). He added the export cuts account for less than 2 per cent of the country's needs.
"I would like to urge all my fellow Singaporeans — keep calm and carry on," he said. "The government will continue to ensure the reliability and the resilience of Singapore's energy supply." #sgnews #singapore #indonesianews #indonesia

My question is: What specific evidence supports the assurance that Singapore’s gas supply will remain secure?

Could you please elaborate with verifiable, documented figures, including:

Replacement supply: What confirmed volumes of replacement gas or LNG are available to offset the reduction from Indonesia?

Supply coverage: Are the replacement volumes sufficient to cover the full 18-day reduction and any further cuts, if they occur?

Actual impact: Have any industrial or commercial customers experienced reduced deliveries, and what measures have been taken to address this?

Price implications: What evidence supports the assessment that electricity prices will not be significantly affected in the short term?

Contingency arrangements: What alternative supply arrangements and reserve capacity are available if the disruption continues beyond the expected period?

It would be helpful to have the relevant EMA data, confirmed supply figures, contingency plans or official documents to substantiate these assurances.

A reassuring statement is important, but transparent evidence and verifiable figures are what give the public confidence. We should distinguish between having sufficient national energy reserves in principle and demonstrating that replacement supplies can be delivered reliably to meet actual demand.

Whatever within your duty control but please don't just easily increase electricity for a thousand reasons. Don't always use money to solve problem at the expense of we consumers.
@@Language_lovers10Imported1wk ago
It won’t have any impact on the wealthy... but if the gas supply were to be cut off entirely, the poor in Singapore would protest over the resulting increase in their electricity bills.

They limit the supply or discontinue the contracts upon expires, can start to look from other countries..while they will surely lose revenue
@@elvinyeo7230Imported1wk ago
Actually can don't expect Indonesia govt care about the companies on honoring the contracts. There are many examples of them not honoring rail contracts with China and japan

When dealing with narcissistic leadership. You cannot have better communication or reasoning with. No need to ask why, just stay with contract terms and diversify with sources.
