North-West businessman Suliman Carrim's case has been postponed. Carrim will remain behind bars until next Wednesday to continue his bail application. The State opposed bail, arguing that Carrim is a flight risk, citing his alleged attempt to leave the country and his failure to appear before the Madlanga Commission despite being subpoenaed. Carrim was arrested last Thursday and charged with contempt of the commission. The state urged the court to deny him bail and remand him in custody until the proceedings are finalised.
