This is not journalism. This is elevating the single voice of one Youtuber and not seriously challenging them with counter-arguments. That is lazy at best and narrative-pushing to the point of bias at worst. DW needs to put a stop to this. Especially since it's a public broadcasting that needs to provide balanced journalism not sensationalism

The actually shocking part aren't these predictions but that people are only now waking up to realize that there might be something to it and that they've possibly been lied to for years.

Ive been saying for close to two years now that AI is a scam. It is barely useful, and meanwhile it sucks up all investment and resources all to make a handful of billionaires even richer. Also it is used for bot farms and anti democratic purposes, misinformation, etc, so I hope the whole thing bursts.

No, they can not design drugs, solve legendary math problems etc. Sticking with the drug ecample, what they do is they interpolate existing molecules, screen them through a bunch of very much non-AI tools to see whether they will bind to the intended protein. Then a human has to synthesize it, see if it actually works in vitro, then humans need to test it on animals and other humans to see whether it is dangerous and again if it works ... AI "automated" like 5% of what drug discovery is and even so, it can not even propose truly "new" things, only an amalgamation of existing ideas. It has its place, but I would say the classical concept of computers and statistical rigor is doing the heavy lifting, while "AI" is falsly claiming the results of other concepts it merely uses.

How will you monetize what ai produces?
If robotics and agi replaces most white & blue collar jobs then the market would not have the size required to make these investments worthwhile.
If they squeeze too much then people will denounce the technology & return to the status quo eventually.
That is if the projections are correct and these companies deliver.

The compute which is what fuels the response we get when we are interacting with AI is getting cheaper not more expensive. This is VERY BAD for the AI companies because they're spending more for the compute. What's worse for them is that nobody is buying, we're all using free models or getting it subsidized. Finally it being commidiffied, like electrify, WiFi, water or textiles. Nobody cares if it's gpt, Claude, Gemini. Just as long as it spits out your homework awnser or whatever you use it for, you turn it off and don't give a flying F about the company. Even if you did, you can't afford to pay for a subscription and why would you. They're running a circular financing ring and pumping the stock. Not making a job, income or a better place for us to live . Let them rot and get it over with, their end is near

there’s zero reason to invest in overvalued AI companies because the potential value is already priced in, they’re priced at over a trillion dollars each when they don’t make a fraction of that in revenue. Amazon and Apple were priced based on business size and performance so they were good stock to buy. The overpriced AI stocks are designed to repay Venture Capital investors and reward the founders, while the index funds are left holding the bag

Germany is not in a very good position as far as AI is concerned. German business leaders do not seem to have much clue on AI except posting total non senses in Linkedin (which itself are often generated by chatgpt). In a recent German AI summit, even professors from German universities were busy making ethnically motivated jokes about Chinese AI. They know that they have no stakes in the development of this technology. Meanwhile "allies" USA and Israel do not care about EU's opinion on AI regulation, let alone what Germans think.
