[11:27] When consumers get another shock of bailing out those of the "too-big-to-fail" which will include the banks, the benefit will be difficult to appreciate :-)

I am working on a video about this and in the USA, the bursting AI bubble, combined with some other outrageous investment directions could result in the US government having to step in and rescue some very big players, players that have become "too big to fail" -- at a cost to taxpayers. Privatize profits, socialize debt (unfortunately).

I thought AI is soooooo good, why haven’t we solve the cancer challenge, prevent an economic meltdown, reverse climate change, restore world peace, reduce poverty, etc…why? Why is the social divide getting wider, climate getting more extreme, wars between humans still persist…

[7:20] Subprime mortgages were a good idea taken too far. Taking that premise too seriously ? :-)

What the numbers show:

Spending far exceeds revenue. Microsoft, Meta, Amazon and Google spent $301 billion in capex in the first half of 2026, with guidance pointing to annual capex of $732.5 billion this year. One estimate puts the gap between AI infrastructure investment and the revenue it generates at roughly $600 billion a year, with capex growing about 46% faster than revenue, a wider divergence than the 32% gap that preceded the 2001 telecom collapse.

The return hurdle is very high. A JPMorgan analysis found that $700B+ of planned 2026 capex requires $1T of annual AI revenue for 10% returns, against a baseline of roughly $90B.

Debt is increasing. Tech giants are spending hundreds of billions of dollars on AI, increasingly financed with debt, while market gains concentrate in a handful of stocks, and bond yields around the world have surged to the highest in decades.

The companies fund each other. The IMF has flagged circular financing arrangements, in which AI firms act as one another’s investors, financiers, and customers, so trouble at one firm spreads to the others.

Any programmer that studied IT/ICT knows per definition that a mathematical model cannot be intelligent because there is no way to program understanding. And he knows the term AI stands for Intelligent design not for a design that inhibits intelligence. Any serious investor should have known the LLM market is a ponzi scheme.

It is coming! The early ones will crash. The latter ones, more subdued and pragmatic in approach from a valuation standpoint, will likely avoid the full impact.

In today's world, we have to start becoming comfortable with dropping long held assumptions. Is an AI bubble burst really that bad? Is GDP really a good measure of how people feel about the economy?

If AI stocks were removed from the S&P it would reveal the rest of our economy is in recession. I recently moved everything into only recession proof stocks/etfs and very high confidence growth plays.
