South African judge and former UN human rights commissioner Navi Pillay has won the Nobel Peace Prize 2026.
Pillay has been recognised for her "efforts to promote peace and international law", the Norwegian Nobel Committee said.
She has become the fifth South African winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, with former President Nelson Mandela among past winners.
In her impromptu acceptance speech at the International Nuremberg Principles Academy, Pillay said it's appropriate she found out about winning the Nobel Prize while with friends and colleagues who support human rights.

When will Trump put sanctions on Nobel Prize Committee chief. Soon after he wakes up or after consulting Marco Rubio?

They apply all these human rights laws only to small countries. Major nations kill thousands of people and destroy nature, yet no action is taken against them. What is the point of receiving awards?

1175 rockets were fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip in 2022. In 2026 it's zero. I'm not sure who you could give a Peace Prize to for that but not having any rockets to fire anymore must be a contribution towards peace.

The truth is, without 'Justice' there can be 'No Peace'. Without everyone being treated 'Equally'. Something that is now most certainly not the case in most 'European Nations'. The UK, Germany, France, Holland, and Belgium. To name but a few. Nations in which the indigenous populations are being treated as 'Second Class Citizens'. Are the victims of 'Multi Tiered Justice Systems'. Unjust systems that are being administered through 'Government Thuggery, Violence, And Imprisonment'.
