Another Russian fuel facility is on fire – and Russia’s refinery problem is getting harder to ignore.
A drone attack in Krasnodar Krai reportedly sparked a major fire at the Edelweiss-95 fuel depot, which supplies gasoline and diesel. In Voronezh, Ukrainian attacks continue to put pressure on Russia’s fuel infrastructure. The IAE says Russian refinery throughput fell by around 30% year-on-year in June, reaching its lowest level in more than 20 years, while gasoline production was down around 20%. Russian refineries were hit by successful attacks on average of once every three days during the first eight months of 2026.
In the new episode of Military Mind, host Jonasz Rewiński looks at the latest strike on Russia’s fuel infrastructure, the growing pressure on its refineries and why repeated attacks are becoming a serious problem for Russia’s fuel supply.
