More than 1.2 million Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh are facing pressure from a UN funding crisis and shrinking aid budgets, with concerns over food and malnutrition in the camps. The refugees are sheltering in Cox’s Bazar, home to the world’s largest refugee settlement, after fleeing violence in Myanmar. The UN is seeking around $710m for 2026 and has so far received 60 percent of the funding. The report says a funding shortfall by November could lead to more ration reductions and cuts to essential services in the camps.
Al Jazeera’s Tanvir Chowdhury reports from Cox’s Bazar.

The Rohingya population historically have been unwelcomed and prosecuted by the Buddhist majority in Myanmar to the point where they're not even viewed as Myanmarness by the majority. They'd probably be better off trying to integrate into the nearby muslim countries honestly.

Ship them to sum muslim country..... Why don't Al Jazeera speak for population control with Rohingyas so there requirement are less and funding is more sufficient to keep them properly alive to properly go back .... Breeding will eventually lead to over burden on bangladesh.... Even mullas of Bangladesh dont want them to go and play political card .... One generation gone then they are not Rohingyas they are Bangladeshi....

We urge the world’s relevant authorities and International Bodies to first find the root causes of the Rohingya crisis and then ensure restoration of full citizenship, recognition of Rohingya identity, safety, and fulfilment of the legitimate demands of Rohingyas before starting repatriation. We cannot repeat past mistakes. There must be a guaranteed non-recurrence. No second chance for Rohingyas this time.

They are obviously Bangladeshi people so why don't they just stay in Bangladesh?
