Heritage
Family Story Films
Every family has stories that only one person can still tell. Sit with your mother, your grandfather, your aunt — tap one big button — and let them tell it in their own words, in their own language, kept forever in a private family archive.
Now in review at Google Play — Android
See it in action
The real app, its real screens, and the idea behind it.
Start with one story
This is the app itself — version 0.2.0, the build now in review at Google Play.
One big button — Elder Mode
One giant record button, huge type, no learning curve. The storyteller needs no account and no experience — sit beside her, tap, and listen.
Questions that open a life
A library of 60 prompts across 10 life themes — Childhood, The Village, Love & Marriage, The Journey, Hard Times, Faith, Work, Food, Proverbs, Names & Ancestry — in English and French.
Her voice, her language
Record in ANY language — Lingala, Tshiluba, Kikongo, Swahili, French, English and many more. Recording is never restricted, and mixing languages mid-story is expected: that's how people actually talk.
Consent first
A storyteller's voice is preserved only with her own clear, recorded agreement. Heritage asks first — and a voice given in trust is protected, never treated as raw material.
A private family archive
Every story is kept with its storyteller, its language and its question attached, ready to play back any time. Heritage works completely offline — recordings never leave the phone, nothing is uploaded, and no data is collected or shared.
Hers to share, hers to keep
Share a single story with the family, or export the whole archive as one file — the archive is the family's property, never locked in. Old recordings can be imported too, and the Life Coverage Map shows which chapters of her life are still waiting to be told.
The real app
Actual screens from Heritage 0.2.0 — warm ink and gold, big type, one clear next step on every screen.
Any language today — every language tomorrow
Recording is never restricted by language. And when her stories become films, this is how Heritage will listen — so every grandchild can follow in their own language.
Tier A · ~99 languages
Strongest transcription
English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Swahili, Lingala, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Amharic and the rest of the ~99 — transcribed with the strongest recognition available.
Tier B · 1,100+ languages
The long tail
Tshiluba, Kikongo and 1,100+ more — languages almost no one else serves. Accuracy there is research-grade, so Heritage pairs it with a family confirmation step and labels it honestly.
Where Heritage is going
From her voice to her film
- Animated story films — her stories turned into short films, narrated in her own preserved voice.
- For the whole family — subtitled, and dubbed where her voice can carry it, in every family member's language.
- The Heritage Book — her stories in print, for the shelf and for the grandchildren.
- Given, not sold — children will be able to gift Heritage to their parents, the way it was always meant to travel.
The film engine is the next phase of Heritage, now in development — it is not part of the app in review today. Families who begin recording now are building the archive those films will be made from.

Status: in review at Google Play. There is no download link yet — the moment Google approves Heritage, the “Get it on Google Play” button will appear right here. Any other site offering a Heritage download today is not us. Until then, the trailer above is the truest look at the app.
Her voice stays hers. Read the Heritage privacy promise — in plain language: recordings stay on the device, nothing is collected or shared, and a voice is preserved only with its owner's recorded consent.
Questions
The short, honest answers.
When can I download Heritage?
Heritage 0.2.0 is in review at Google Play right now. There is no public download link until Google approves it — when that happens, the Play button appears on this page, and the app's first families can start recording the same day.
Does Heritage upload her recordings?
No. Heritage works completely offline: recordings stay on the phone, no account is required, and no data is collected or shared. A story leaves the phone only if you choose to share or export it yourself.
Can we add recordings we already have?
Yes — Heritage 0.2.0 can import existing audio into her archive, so the stories already sitting in old voice notes and recorders can take their place beside the new ones.
Which languages can she speak?
Any language on Earth — recording is never restricted, and mixing languages mid-story is expected. The question library speaks English and French. When the film engine arrives, transcription covers ~99 languages strongly and a long tail of 1,100+ more, including Tshiluba and Kikongo.
What will it cost?
Recording her stories and keeping the archive is free. A Family plan is planned for the film era — and her first story and first film stay free forever. There will never be ads inside a family's private films, and family data is never sold.
