Twitchers have travelled to the coastal city of Geraldton in WA's Mid West after multiple sightings of a bird that has been seen fewer than a dozen times in Australia.
The black-headed gull usually migrates between Europe and Asia. This one is believed to have been blown off course by rough weather.
Twitcher Tegan Douglas, who also works for Birdlife Australia, made the 400-kilometre drive from Perth to see the black-headed gull for herself.
