Its very spacious but very empty if you do not have stuff you will have echo & chilling yin but 99 years lease cannot be a forever home.<br><br>40 ppl party is a function room not a conference room.<br><br>Good for gathering but not for cleaning & maintaining.<br><br>Aircon bill will be high to cool this square area.<br><br>A lot of condo is smaller than this but has amenities.
This family can afford such a spacious HDB FLAT, yet no air-con…..!!!????

Agreed, we need bigger HDB flats, consider to make the newer 4 room or 5 room HDB much bigger. Current size is too small and doesnt help with family planning.

Too late. If the space made available to us earlier on wld def have more kids...now even giving them their own personal rooms with enough space is difficult for 4 room.

Does the HDB still allow us to buy an adjoining flat and knock down the common wall to make it a bigger flat?
This is what we need for birth rate to go up. Yeah.... I recall seeing our new 3 gen flat is roughly 115-120sqm. Old 5 room can easily be bigger than than our 3 gen flat today, not to mention we had executive flat that were as big as 150 or 160 and now we do not have that. No wonder birth rate can only be wose, just no space for new couples to have babies or more babies.

They should do away with this name Jumbo flat if the country want to increase birth rate.If want to increase birth rate, there should be houses with more bedrooms that are affordable for those that need it.Government like to create new housing grants, should consider one for such cases where people with more than 3 kids qualify for HDB grant when purchasing such "jumbo" flats.But of course the vampire blood sucking property agents will try push price higher.But still workable with some tweaks.
