A blue wave swept across the US in the midterm elections as Democrats scored historic wins in previously Republican strongholds. But can the party keep its momentum going until 2028? Top Democrats leaders say the party will be united in focus, but they would have to contend with progressives who want the party to take radical action. DW's Aaron Tilton speaks with Andy Rudalevich from Bowdoin College and Colin Seeberger from the Center for American Progress to break this down.

Europe is in trouble already...France. Germany. Poland. Italy. Spain..... Ukraine wants 175 billion for 2027!!!! This is going to total stop war's🙏or everybody in the world in the wars 🤬 ..... negotiations have to be done with Russia end Iran or we going to be back in caves again
Can democrats deliver? Economy won't be better for the world next 3 years.... if wars in iran end saudi arabia stops today (it's on going) oil refineries to get back on full production Ned's repair which going to take 2 to 3 years end that's only oil problem we have fertilizer problems too + spending on weapons in ukrain and Iran that's going to bankrupt all of us involved in this wars
The video describes a blue wave in the midterm elections, with Democrats scoring historic wins in previously Republican strongholds, and discusses what the party may do next with that mandate.
What mandate? They ran on things they won't do and their messages after winning proves it! So about every mid term election swings and they never had a mandate
Go ahead and investigate. But do it while my gas and cost of living stays high, talk about Iran or NATO with my prices high, and see how I vote in 2028.
- The U.S. should help establish two states: Palestine and Israel.
- The U.S. should prevent both Iran and Israel from possessing nuclear weapons.
- The U.S. should leave the management of the Strait of Hormuz to the Gulf states.
People want Universal Healthcare, cheaper cost of living, higher wages, less taxes, affordable housing, etc. -- not 2-4 years of wasting tax dollars on impeachment trials that amount to NOTHING!!!
Democrats win big but cost of living will stay the same or move higher. Stocks are going to nose dive even more. Trillions are being lost. Factories are being stopped. Investments are also Stopped. We will soon be in a Recession. People did this to themselves.
The Democrats will either do next to nothing while constantly clashing with Trump or sell out voters to make deals with Trump for more pork barrel spending. Either is preferable to the unfettered chaos that has been the last two years but it will still suck regardless.
I am pretty certain that voters dont want the usual circus of investigations that are mostly show. The voters want actual action, actual bills being introduced and passed - in other words an actual working congress
NEVER underestimate the ability of Democrats to f things up! Remember that in the end, both US political parties are war parties beholden to the same economic elite who own both sides, because under the US system, you can't win political office without begging oligarchs for obscene amounts of money to run advertising campaigns. Both parties are revolving doors where politicians go from Wall Street or lobbying, to government, then back to their previous workplaces. Obama didn't fundamentally change the US, even started new wars in Syria and Libya. When Trump was kicked out of Office, Biden had a chance to change directions. Instead of doing anything constructive, he focused his Presidency on proxy war with Russia, then oversaw Israel's genocide of Gaza. His unpopularity was what got Trump a second term.

Don't expect too much from the Dems. Look at the UK. They went from one wave election to another. People aren't voting FOR another party, but voting OUT an incumbent government in anger. Within a few months, the same voters discover (or probably always knew) the other side isn't better, and they end up hating them just as much. Texas and Kansas aren't blue states. Even Trump's own supporters are tired of him.

Democrats didn't "win" the mid-terms - *IRAN* won the mid-term for them. By reacting to US aggression in the manner that Iran chose, Iran disrupted the energy supply, drove up prices for consumers across the US, and created enough economic chaos that made Trump unpopular. If Democrats wish to thank someone for their victory, they should than *IRAN* for doing 90% of the work, because Democrats certainly didn't do anything to deserve its big victory.
