Thank you for standing up for LGBTQ rights, Germany

Glad we beat respect for others into you, hope we can team up and beat respect for others into those who are desperately in need of it 🇬🇧💕🇩🇪
With this parliament, I do not expect the aforementioned bill to be passed. They cannot even pass the laws required for EU accession, even though the EU is offering substantial funds for these reforms. However, once martial law has ended and the elections have taken place, I am optimistic.
The issue is far more nuanced than it is, and the reality is if you change the fabric of Ukraine (i.e. its culture), than you remove the very spirit that makes it fight. Conservatives are far and away more likely to serve in the Armed Forces, be it in Ukraine or the U.S. Just look at the volunteer ‘Battalions’ that stood up in 2014, when Ukraine’s military was in shambles…..Right Sector, Aidar, Asov, Donbas – these weren’t exactly vegan-eating hipsters. Bottom line….you can’t have your cake and eat it too. You want Ukraine and its warriors to go toe to toe with what’s being thrown at it, then you have to maintain its culture. Culture undergirds everything. Without it, all the weapons and drones will do little.

Saw this film last month at a local film festival (ImageOut) and it was really striking to watch. If you get a chance to see it, you really should. It's an amazing film and documentary on both the war going on and the people fighting it. Truly amazing job at capturing everything, and very uplifting despite the cirucumstances.
I am a 72 year old American woman, the daughter of a WW2 veteran and the youngest sibling of three gay men, two of whom served in the United States military long before LGBTQ+ rights were recognized within the military. Whether one believes that these groups of people should be in the military or not is beside the point. From the enlisted ranks to the officers, they serve just as proudly and just as bravely. Indeed, it takes a lot of courage to serve in such capacities while having to hide an essential part of your identity. They should not have to hide who they are. There are many LGBTQ+ soldiers and sailors serving their countries all over the world. They are fighting, getting wounded, and dying. They bleed the same color as all of the others. And their mothers cry too. ✌🏼🇺🇦💛💙
THANK YOU for taking up this report, all lives matter! I hope this resonates with all who FIGHT against oppression, violence and ignorance but for freedom, peace and LOVE ❤️❤️❤️ SLAVA UKRAINI from New Zealand.
Now you understand why the majority of the world is repelled by the west. It's good to be free but there has to be boundaries.
Keep your sexuality to yourself.
the Ukrainian people cant join the EU if they act like the Russian government. thank you DW for shining light on this darkness. thank you to the brave queer folks fighting for everyone's freedom
I am a Gay man, I will never fight an homophobe nation. Nationality means nothing for me. I send all my support to all my Gay/Bisexual men mattes no matter how you are or where you come from Gays 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
Russians, 15 ruble commenters, pro-russians and actual LLM bots/bots. Its a mass disinformation campaign. If you see nonsensical "_ " and ",,," or anything similar in the middle of words and sentences, that's a bot, cheap one too
What happened to EU and Ukrainian ?, After prolonging proxy war in Ukraine by EU taxpayers money longer than 5 years , It is not EU taxpayers business🙏
Is insane we get videos of men getting kidnapped daily in a war that is prolongued non stop unconditionally, but here, look! Get moved by this ones that decided they want to fight! Nice focus.
Can gay people hold a weapon, fire and successfully deflect an enemy?
If so, I don't see a problem. They deserve respect as much as a straight soldiers.
LGBTQ+ Ukrainians are fighting alongside their fellow citizens against Russia, yet same-sex couples still lack legal recognition. Could their sacrifices on the battlefield help change attitudes and bring greater equality to Ukraine? Or will discrimination persist after the war? What do you think?
