Germany may already have a clear frontrunner for its next president. Media reports say the CDU and CSU have agreed to nominate Ilse Aigner, and the Social Democrats are ready to support her. That could make the Bavarian politician Germany’s first female head of state. But who is she, and why do politicians from different parties believe she is right for Germany’s highest office?

So from this video I know that she has been in politics for decades, but this video didn't specify a single achivement that she has made, no amazing laws, no good causes that she has faught for. So decades without a big enough achivement worth mentioning.

Sounds very bland under achiver, who just works the image of being in the middle of the political spectrum.
While she is a capable politician and manager, I don't know if she can connect to the people outside of the political elite. I wonder if she is a choice primarily to ensure people don't care much for her, she does her job quiet and she does not stir up politics with anything surprising or groundbreaking.
We dont need another female president. We already saw what female leaders in EU like Von der leyen, Kaja Kallas doing...they are dragging down whole EU.
Traditionally the German president is neutral and all party activities, including memberships are suspended/paused. Putting emphasis on which party a president used to be part of is very wrong, their role is being a mostly ceremonial, neutral voice of reason.
