More than 10 years ago, the trend was clear. America will enter into a country all races are minorities. The party of inclusion will win. The party built on whites will lose. California was the first state. Democratic party followed the trend. Republican took advantage of anxiety of whites and won many races at first. When the trend showed its power, Republican party became permanent losers in California. Texas as a border state, facing the same trend earlier than other non-border states. What surprised me was it took so long for Texas to flip. The trend will continue for foreseeable future. Republic party must become more inclusive to survive.

All you have to do is look at the numbers coming out of Texas. Talarico and Hinojosa didn’t squeak out victories. There wasn’t any nail biting. This wasn’t within the margin of error- this was a drubbing. A thorough and resounding defeat to TX Republicans. Full on belts to asses. Congratulations to all of them. Now the real work starts.

As a Texan I realize my mistake in never voting in a midterm before this year. I won’t be making that mistake again. I will be voting blue for the foreseeable future until I in is without a doubt all the bad eggs are gone in the Redumblican party and even then they would have to prove without a doubt that they are the right choice for Texans and also American.

The part that is going to be underestimated is the fact that the whole &#39;your vote doesn&#39;t really matter&#39; people, now HAVE PROOF that method of thinking is completely false! Now... those who never voted are going to feel empowered to vote for future elections. 1. I don&#39;t know how Texas Republicans recover from this (a lot of their electorate are getting old or will eventually no longer be with us). 2. If Texas gets more ppl knowing that their vote matters (young ppl etc) that means we may never see Texas red for a very long time. 3. If Republicans lost Texas... then how is it possible for them to ever win a presidential election in the near future (2-10 years?)

Well done Americans, righting the wrongs! Democrats have a unique and rare opportunity here and I hope they don&#39;t waste it on revenge schemes against Trump, though he&#39;s deserving of it all. People across America need to see Dems make a difference locally and federally. Trump should be held accountable but both should be done at the same time. Texas was trending blue for a few years now, a lot of people moved into the cities lately. On top of that, you have Paxton who had zero policies and only relied on the idea that &quot;Texas must be red no matter what&quot; along with his awful past. And Talarico who came in as a moderate Democrat to draw support across the isle. And the Talarico popularity carried the Dems on all races, he made Texas blue all across. What Texans did though, punishing the republicans for taking them for granted, speaks volume and kudos to them. More one-party states might need this hard restart to show them that party affiliation alone should not be enough, policy is more important.
