Nat seems quite skeptical about Sabrina's approach but Gerald was more open to understanding it which is a good contrast in this podcast. As Sabrina has mentioned, it's not a one size fits all approach, but her appraoch to how she runs the company works for her as she measures output rather than mostly prioritizing strict and fixed working hours. She has profound understanding of why people, especially women in this modern day and age, require work flexibility more than ever, which is a concept that a lot of people can't seem to fully understand. Good on her for being realistic and not idealising/romanticising flexible arrangements, but bringing forth the pros and cons to it and providing insights on how her company operates.

From personal experience, if performance and rewards were judged solely by outcomes rather than time spent in the office (or the art of perception management), many civil servants would struggle to justify both their roles and their pay. 😂

she seems like a reasonable and kind boss yet very firm. Very impressed at her leadership style and i'm sure her employees appreciate the flexibility at work.

Most of the local based or local setup entities do not have work from home. They have the Sme mindset . In my previous work place where we enjoyed flexi arrangements , things changed when a new CEO joined .

HR is often sandwiched between employees and the company . In some organisation esp in hospitality , the company decides no exceptions and all to return. The reason is because they have front facing employee, so to be fair , everyone returns to office. I think it's stupid Bec not everyone is in a client facing role

Flexible working works varying people. More often than not, you'll find young people are better at working with flexible working arrangements because, since at young age we have been pushing through our education using cramming methods. Ten years series, burning through midnight oil before our papers etc. Their minds are used to hyperfocus when given an objective(papers in schools, project deadlines at work).

It'll get even worse for kids whom grew up with devices. Their attention span is even shorter.
