At least DW learned, not to stamp everything as being a crisis. Well done DW, you are actually learning real journalism again. Well done.

Luminous or luminescent in English is from Latin = emits visible light Luminous paint. What you mean to say is aluminium. If you are going to copy regional U.S. accents is it not going to become confusing. Like route and U.S. pronunciation of route as rout which means something totally different. It is not a posh or pompous pronunciation it is basic English. The English use data for example from Latin again but U.S. New Yorkers, pronounce it as dart her when no her was darted

Fun fact, aluminium are used in things like missiles and rockets. Even more fun fact, Ireland exports aluminium to make said things to Russia. Maybe the EU and Ireland should consider stopping exports of this metal that's becoming scarcer for uses where they can't be gathered up and recycled. You know, just a thought.

There is plenty of aluminium in Australia especially virgin material in addition to recycled materials. Perhaps consider importing the Aluminium directly from Australia?

Whats the point of Canada being an associate member if you won't buy resources off them? Europe won't be able to feasibly out produce Canadian aluminum production. Canada I'm sure would happily boost aluminum production if they had certainty and there is a lot of supply chain to shift from USA to Europe.

So EU makes manufacturing more difficult and less competitive for its manufacturers with rules and regulations that increase cost, including high energy costs from using expensive energy sources, and still wonder why many Europeans are becoming anxious? Sometimes I wonder whether Europe is not intentionally committing industrial suicide with its rules and regulations. At least happy to see some politicians in AFD in Germany calling out the seemingly foolish energy policies in Germany

I support a level playing field when it comes to industry (such as from regulatory differences) but the energy costs are due to our political class's stupidity, not because of unfair practices abroad.

If they hadn't willfully destroyed our nuclear energy/fossil fuel infrastructure and opportunities, we would have this issue. If they don't want dependence on Russian energy, they should have built up cheap nuclear energy with a fully European supply chain.

We’re having a similar problem in America with logs for processing into lumber. The Chinese buy it all up for higher costs than most mills can afford to pay, ship the logs to China, process them, make them into furniture products and then ship the products back to America. Somehow they’re able to do all of this cheaper than processing the logs right here. This is putting American sawmills out of business
