Notice these Western media outlets always call the cars "cheap" because it suggests downgraded quality. Meanwhile, if they were referring to their own autos in the same context, they would call them "affordable".

The size of a trade deficit is absolutely irrelevant. The only thing that matters is does our trade result in undesired strategic risks. Hybrids cars are not strategically important: they are the dumbest type of car that only has a short lifespan as we go fully electric. So the EU has wasted its negotiation capital on something non-strategic, while it could have focussed on rare earths, batteries, solar panels, chips, etc.

Is Europe experiencing a decline? Is this all linked to the high costs in Europe such as those for raw materials and labor impacting innovation, research, and technology development across both products and services? Or is it because Europe is overly dependent on other nations, such as the United States and China?

Chinese hybrid cars that were built inside the European Union will likely be exempt from the quota.
