* The Constitutional Court is this morning expected to consider the ANC's bid to challenge a decision that disqualified its candidate lists in six municipalities ahead of the 4 November 2026 local government elections.
The Independent Electoral Commission says the ANC failed to meet the deadline for submitting its candidate lists.
* The 15th COSATU national congress reconvenes at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni today following its collapse last month. Among other priorities, a new leadership will be elected.
* Five suspects are to appear before the Krugersdorp Magistrate Court today, following their arrest last week after a multi-million rand drug manufacturing laboratory was uncovered at a farm in Hekpoort, near Krugersdorp, Gauteng.
The laboratory worth is estimated at R100 million, it was uncovered through a multi- disciplinary operation led by the South African Narcotics Bureau of the Hawks.
* A Russian attack killed three people and wounded 10 in Ukraine's second-largest city of Kharkiv, damaging 35 houses.
