The loss of control over AI is a real threat, said Singapore Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian at a dialogue at the Milken Institute Asia Summit on Wednesday (Oct 7).

"The risk of rogue actors, state and non-state, using this technology. To build new weapons of disruption, whether it's in chemistry or biology, or in weapons of mass destruction is very real. It is a time of heightened risk," he said.

Dr Balakrishnan, who has built his own AI agents using open-source tools, spoke plainly: "You know, if we train our agents on the entire corpus of stuff which has been published in the internet and most of the stuff on the internet is violent, misogynistic, unfair, crazy, and then you're surprised that your AI agents are a reflection of humanity ...

"We should not be surprised that AI agents brought up on a diet of human
thought and writings also will behave like human beings."
