They took over their own airport
Most international media have some misunderstandings about the current condition in Tigray. FYI, inside Tigray there are four international airports. Airport administration is exclusively under the federal government. So, the airports in Tigray were directly under federal control while the TPLF administration has been in place since the recapture of Mekelle in June 2021. It is unclear whether the federal government or the TPLF suspended flights for political gain. Of course, the war broke out silently months ago when Abiy restarted drone strikes in Tigray. Now it is an escalation, not a new thing.
Stop calling them rebels. TPLF is the only democratically elected government in Ethiop8a.

These rebels most likely have been funded and armed by foreign countries that desperately want Ethiopia to fail. Some of these foreign actors have been plotting to bomb the recently built biggest dam in Ethiopia called Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) that is supposed to power new industries in Ethiopia

TPLF, Abiy (PP), FANO, OLA, and ISAIAS Aforki all seem love war, but it is our people who are suffering because of these leaders. I wish i don't be part of the generation who loves war. It is heartbreaking to see, and I feel helpless because I cannot do much to help stop the war.<br><br>In the end, this conflict seems to benefit only Egypt, Eritrea, and Sudan, while our people continue to suffer enormously. It is deeply sad to watch what is happening to our country and our people.
