As concerns grow over South Africa's water quality and infrastructure challenges, communities are increasingly taking water monitoring into their own hands.
WaterCAN has distributed more than 500 citizen science water testing kits across the country as part of its fifth annual Water Testing Week.
From rivers and dams to household taps and JoJo tanks, participants are collecting vital water quality data that could help identify risks, strengthen accountability and build what is being described as South Africa's largest independent citizen-led water database.
Joining us now is WaterCAN Citizen Science and Training Coordinator, Nomsa Daele.
