It’s not consciousness you need from AI you weirdos… it’s sapience.
it can always be jnstructed otherwise. this doesnt better define conciousness, or the application of artifice to that. when provoked, ai acts as living things do. when motivated properly, it is possible to artificially produce biological organic structures with independent, intelligent, autonomous behavior. if we define life as that, then some ai is currently alive, and locomotive in real space and time. this does not make it natural. its whether we choose to define life that way which is problematic. its whether the conciousness emerges from that system naturally which is such a high goal.
The AI fear mongering is intended to prevent new competition by creating massive legal hurdles to operate in the US & Europe.<br>These guys don't push for legislation that stifles their own progress - they push for legislation that protects their massive AI bubble for as long they can.
Without fear mongering about AI the media won't have anything to make us watch. I use AI daily and it doesn't do anything it's not directed to do period!
