Delhi's Satya Niketan Building Collapse: How did a 50-year-old building fall in seconds?

Five people were rescued during the operation, which has now been completed. The building reportedly had excavation work underway in its basement, although the exact cause of the collapse will be established after the investigation. The building housed a private boys’ hostel with around 30 students, most of them from Delhi University. Questions are now being raised over the building’s construction and safety, including reports that only the Ground Floor and First Floor were permitted, while the building had five floors.

Decode With Sudhir Chaudhary: 6 सितंबर को दिल्ली के सत्य निकेतन इलाके में करीब 50 साल पुरानी 5 मंजिला इमारत अचानक कुछ ही सेकंड में ध्वस्त हो गई, जिसमें 7 लोगों की मौत हो गई और इनमें 5 छात्र बताए जा रहे हैं। Rescue Operation के दौरान 5 लोगों को सुरक्षित बचाया गया और अब ऑपरेशन खत्म हो चुका है। बताया जा रहा है कि इमारत के बेसमेंट में खुदाई का काम चल रहा था, हालांकि हादसे की असली वजह जांच के बाद ही सामने आएगी। इस बिल्डिंग में लड़कों का Private Hostel था, जहां करीब 30 छात्र रहते थे, जिनमें ज्यादातर Delhi University के छात्र थे। सवाल ये भी है कि अगर इमारत में सिर्फ Ground Floor और First Floor की अनुमति थी, तो 5 मंजिला बिल्डिंग कैसे खड़ी हुई और इसकी पहले जांच क्यों नहीं हुई?
