KwaZulu-Natal authorities are tightening the screws on businesses accused of employing undocumented foreign nationals.
Premier Thami Ntuli says September will see intensified enforcement operations under Operation Engangeni Ngesango Iyafohla, with raids targeting companies suspected of violating immigration and labour laws in and around the Mandeni Municipality.
Speaking during a compliance operation, Ntuli voiced concern after finding that several of the businesses earmarked for inspection had shut their doors before officials arrived.
But he insists the closures will not derail the crackdown.
