TruthLand is being built so families building or buying back home can see the proof before money moves. You can use TruthLand entirely on your device, with no account — and nothing leaves the phone. Version 0.2.0 adds the option to sign in with a VidNexa account: then your projects sync to VidNexa's server so the people in your project share one record, and each project gets a chat and voice/video calls. This page says exactly what is stored where, in both modes. TruthLand still does not move money, has no ads, and never sells data.
01 What we store, and why
Signed out, we store nothing. The app makes one brief request to VidNexa's own server to download its configuration (GET https://vidnexa.com/api/v1/truthland/config) — which optional features are available, and any announcement from us. That request carries only the app's own key: no personal data, no project details. Your projects work fully offline.
If you create an account and sign in, we store on VidNexa's server only what the features need:
- Account information: your username, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password itself), plus your TruthLand role (owner, family, agent or builder) and your chosen language. Your email is verified with a 6-digit code before the account can sign in.
- Synced projects: the projects you choose to keep in your account — names, places, budgets, milestones with their states, and the family names you list — so you and the people you add to a project see the same record on every phone.
- Project chat content: the messages and voice notes you send inside a project (see section 03).
- Call records: who called, in which project, when, and for how long — never the call itself (see section 04).
- No analytics, tracking, or measurement software inside the app — ours or anyone else's.
- No advertising software and no advertising or device identifiers. TruthLand has no ads.
- Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers, advertisers, or analytics companies. Your data is never sold.
02 On the device, and signing in
Everything you create is stored first in the app's private storage on your device — projects, milestones, budgets, and the sign-in token if you sign in. Signed-out use never transmits any of it.
- When you sign in, your projects sync to your account on VidNexa's server; the server copy becomes the shared record for everyone in the project, and your phone keeps a local cache so everything keeps working offline.
- Only the people you add to a project (by their VidNexa username or email) can see that project's record, chat and call history — nobody else.
- Any project can be deleted inside the app; deleting removes it from the device. Removing the app removes all of its on-device data with it.
TruthLand on the web: the same account record is also available in a desktop web browser at vidnexa.com/truthland — for Windows, macOS and any other desktop. You sign in there with the same VidNexa account, protected by your normal VidNexa website sign-in session on that browser, and you see the same projects, milestones, money states, members, chat and call record described in this policy. The web client stores nothing of its own: no extra copy of your data is created, and no additional information is collected for using it.
- On the web, the microphone and camera are used only when you start a voice note or a voice/video call, and only with the browser's own permission prompt — the same rule as the app (section 05). Voice notes you record in the browser are stored in the same private server area as app voice notes, playable only by members of that project.
- Evidence is view-only on the web: on-site evidence is captured only in the Android app, so it always carries its place and time seal. There is no evidence upload on the web.
- Calls on the web work exactly as in section 04 — WebRTC between the participants, VidNexa's own relay when a direct connection is not possible, never recorded; only the call event joins the project record.
03 Project chat
Each project has one chat thread for the people in it. Messages are stored on VidNexa's server as part of the project's permanent record — they cannot be deleted by the participants, because the thread is part of the proof of what was said and agreed. Voice notes are stored in a private area of our server and can be played only by members of that project, never by a public link.
- Messages are stored in the language they were written in. TruthLand does not silently rewrite what people said.
- Every message is checked by the scam shield: if a message asks for money to move outside TruthLand (for example to a personal account or a money-transfer service), it is flagged and shown to everyone in the thread with a loud warning. The check looks for payment patterns only — it never blocks your message.
- The thread always carries the rule: money only moves through milestones, after proof, when the owner approves.
04 Voice and video calls
People in the same project can call each other from the project thread. Calls use WebRTC: the audio and video travel directly between the callers' devices wherever possible. When a direct connection cannot be made, the media passes through VidNexa's own relay server (a TURN server) — the relay forwards the encrypted stream; it does not store it.
- Calls are not recorded. Not by default, not ever, in this version. There is no recording feature in the app.
- What joins the project record is only the call event: who called, in which project, when it started, and how long it lasted — the same kind of record as a phone bill line, with no content.
- Call setup messages (the technical handshake) pass through VidNexa's server and are discarded after the call connects.
05 Camera, microphone and location
The app asks for camera and microphone access for two things: video and voice calls inside a project, and voice notes in project chat. They are used only while you are on a call or recording a note, and only after you tap to start. If a permission is refused, the rest of the app still works; only that feature is unavailable.
Evidence is the heart of TruthLand: when verification features are used, evidence is filmed or photographed inside the app, and the place and time of capture are recorded with it so the proof carries where and when it was taken. This version does not track your location in the background, ever.
06 Money in this version
To be completely clear: this version of TruthLand does not take payments, does not hold money, and contains no purchases. TruthLand is designed so it never custodies client money: when milestone releases launch in a later version, money will move only through licensed payment rails, only after verification passes and you tap approve — and this policy will be updated first, before that feature is switched on. TruthLand's one fee (a single percentage per project, shown upfront) is described in the app; there is no membership and no subscription, ever.
07 Who TruthLand is for
TruthLand is made for adults who are buying land or building in one place while living in another — and for the families who build with them. It is not designed for children, and it contains no advertising.
08 Your choices and deletion
- Signed-out use is always available. Signing in is optional; local tracking never requires an account.
- You can sign out at any time in the app; your on-device projects stay on the device.
- To delete your VidNexa account and its synced TruthLand data, contact us (section 09) or use the account tools on vidnexa.com. Project chat threads are part of the project's permanent record shared with the other participants; on account deletion your messages are anonymised to your fellow participants rather than rewritten.
- If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page before the change takes effect.
