New P1 registration system working depends on “parental decisions”: Desmond Lee

Whether changes to the Primary 1 registration system achieve their aim of widening access will ultimately depend on parents’ decisions, said Minister for Education Desmond Lee in parliament on Wednesday (Oct 7).

Under the two-track scheme, half of the Phase 2C places at selected schools will be set aside for children living within 2km, while the other half will be available to those living beyond 2km. “At least now we widen the circle and give opportunities,” Mr Lee said. #singapore #sgnews
