The cost of next year's public sector pensions bill will hit £60.2 billion according to Neil Record, a former BoE economist. This year's bill was £57.4 billion. 6.6 million workers will receive Defined Benefit pensions, guaranteed inflation-linked income for life, which are funded by taxpayers. Why is this never mentioned in budget planning.
