good customer service has been DEAD in Canada for decades! Visit Japan and you will see how customers are (usually) treated like Kings and Queens!

While I sympathise with Robert and those who are blind or have other challenges... accessiblity should have its limits. Most employers are covered under a law that says as long as reasonable efforts have been made to accomadate, then there is no legal issue. Asking for a braille menu (big expense) in all Canada's restaurants is unreasonable.. having a voice read back option is totally reasonable and should be done!

How is this so hard for restaurants to fix? Cardboard braille easily updated, voiceover, tactile stickers, should be part of any manager’s job.

Part of the problem of the power doors is that it takes time to get a technician to come in and fix the buttons. Where I work it could take a week or two to resolve the issue, and we're very aware of accessibility issues.

It should also be mandatory to have a baby changing table on each restaurant. Its hard to change diapers if there are no diaper changing table in a washroom.

The fact that Ontario is a leader and this is the results just shows how bad it is

Was just at Lone Star restaurant last night. Gosh those prices are so high now — like the Keg’s!

Its 2026, its a little embarrassing how backwards we've not advanced despite the technology and understanding we have.

Voice menu would be helpful for people with learning disabilities too or older people who didn’t learn to read

No braille menus, like seriously? For .1 percent of the population. Why does the world need to alter for a tiny segment of society. 3 percent are extremely light sensitive. Are you gonna shut off all the lights?

No company is going to spend millions building out voice ai for the 1000 blind people in canada. CBC trying to make a big deal out of a small tiny problem.. The solution? Your blind use your mouth to order and ask a staff.

It's sad, but we all know the real reason why: Greed. The return on investment simply isn't there so they don't do it. People with disabilities will always be a minority in terms of the total volume sold, so the c-suite will never think it's worth it to spend the money on them because the majority of regular customers won't notice or care

As a restaurant worker of 20 years, I've never seen a brail menu

Pricing in restaurants has also made eating out intolerable, I haven't bothered with restaurants or ordering out since 2019. My cooking skills have improved.

If you think the restaurant are bad, look at the GO train no electronic board for the what the next stop or the information from the speaker and nobody is doing anything about it
