Haley Stevens’ decision Sunday to drop her post-primary endorsement of Abdul El-Sayed and endorse Republican nominee Mike Rogers uncorked simmering Democratic anger at her fiancé, who told reporters he was voting for Rogers days before Stevens did so.
Stevens insists that he had nothing to do with her decision to endorse Rogers. On Monday night, she posted a lengthy statement on X that criticized what she called “sexism dressed up as political analysis.”
CNN’s Anderson Cooper talks to Mallory McMorrow who ran against Stevens and El-Sayed in the primary on Stevens’ about face and the CNN NewsNight panel debates on who this will helps more in the race & the wider implications for 2028.

Wow, what a difference between this clear well spoken woman and Stevens. I think the nail in the coffin for Stevens is that she could have chosen to quietly back away if she was dissatisfied, instead she chose to endorse a Trump enabler. Clearly every criticism she had of Roger’s was just to get elected.
Give it up Anderson - and I’m not talking about bending over 😂<br><br><br>It’s too late for all this propaganda- so just focus on the polls today 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
ITS TOO LATE ! ! ! <br>Her explanations are not reasonable, they are petty.<br>She has a problem with how she was shunned by Abdul-Sayed, she should have sent a confidential email to his chief staffer and ask for it to be provided to him in confidentiality. If she felt scorn after endorsing A.S., she very much should communicate her feelings of disrespect (and that's all they are, they are not policy positions, just feeling disrespected) but it is imperative to do so privately. Give the guy a chance to respond and change the path of their relationship. Don't do it publicly. Reagan said Never speak ill of your fellow Republican. She should never speak ill of Abdul-Sayed. She can support Israel without mentioning Abdul-Sayed. She can give all of her views without detracting from her own party's front runner.
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsBT_0acQ2s&t=748">12:28</a> why can't people be anti Israel? Israel makes dumb decisions that effect Americans
Goblin planned to use Abdul's rally stage for her nasty stunt. Wise man, said no to her "help". She'll find out she's nobody in about 8 hours.
She's a control freak who wanted to tell him how to run his campaign and what he can and can't do, and when he denounced things she accused him of doing that weren't true, that was NEVER good enough for her. Just like Trump, she wants to rewrite history and paint herself as a victim of Abdul, when what I saw was a vengeful narcisssistic woman who could barely even say his name without choking on it in disgust, and I knew then that she should never be trusted by anyone. And, she's still trying defend her despicable backstabbing actions. Enough already! When someone shows you who they are with their actions, believe them!
Hey, CNN panelists, when Liz Chaney jumped from GOP to endorse the Dems, the Dems might have called her brave because their platform was where she was jumping TO. But the MAGA base, the GOP side she was jumping FROM called her a traitor.<br><br>Now that Hayley Stevens is jumping FROM the Dems to the MAG, it's on point for the Dem base to call her a traitor.<br><br>How do your brains not see the similarities?
israel does she know she lives in america <a href="UCkszU2WH9gy1mb0dV-11UJg/xsIfY4OqCd2T29sP54iAsAw"></a><a href="UCkszU2WH9gy1mb0dV-11UJg/xsIfY4OqCd2T29sP54iAsAw"></a> what an idiot shes definitely paid by aipac<a href="UCkszU2WH9gy1mb0dV-11UJg/ssIfY7OFG5OykQOpn4CQCw"></a><a href="UCkszU2WH9gy1mb0dV-11UJg/hcIfY57lBJXp6AKBx4CoCA"></a>
We are the United States of AMERICA, Not the United States of ISRAEL!!!! Time for politicians and people in this country to wake up. We shouldn't be sending billions of dollars to a foreign country that has universal healthcare, drops bombs on kids and uses our money to do it...while complaing we can't afford healthcare in our own country!!!! 🤡🤡
The gentleman is right — Haley is a liar. Two months ago she called Rogers a “nightmare” and a rubber stamp for Trump and the MAGA agenda. Now she endorses him? Give me a break.
Dave Urban and Scott Jennings are the two most disingenuous people that appear on CNN panels. Their nlind loyalty to the Republicans and their policies is pathetic.
Liz Cheney didn't lie though. Simple as that. People don't like liars. <br><br>These talking heads are making it way over-complicated. I know they do it for a living so they may not realize this, but, the everyday American hates lies & liars. (& flip-floppers are just another kind of liar, especially if they're doing it for foreign $$$)
Who is this person and why do we care. She has aged like a newspaper wrapped around a dead fish. No one cars what she has to say anymore. By next year people will not remember who you are.
Trump just announced that the US is stopping all financial support to Israel at the end of the year. So I guess Trump is Antisemitic now because this is what El-Sayed stood for, America first.
Can CNN please stop with every f*cking video being a childish argument? I’m stopping this video 30 seconds ish after the actual reporting stopped playing and the childish screaming debate startet. No one asked for this and your contributing to the volatile climate in your country. Do better unless you’re bought off and I missed it. (And even if - do better.)
I bet this was always the plan and if she won the primaries she would have betrayed us AT the midterms and abdicated the race. We dodged a bullet with this psycho. We do not want Fetterwoman anywhere near policy.
She did this 2 days before the vote because she wanted an effect and tried to cause the entire party to lose the country for 2 years.<br>She deserves no mercy
Yes, they were brave David, both lost their careers over it. If Stevens is as brave, let her deal with the outcome...she loses all political scope...AND the republicans called them traitors. What, you cannot understand that being a traitor is being one to the side you claim you support, then turns out you were lying? Did Cheney and Adam actually do that? no, they stood up and still claimed to be republicans and voted that way, but they would NOT lie about an insurrection. This is not the same thing, BUT if it were to be, let Halley live with her decisions. She is gone from the dems, and she will not have a future in the republican party....so, that was her choice.
The war is highly unpopular. And why are we forced to kiss the ring of Israel. <br><br>I hope the AA community votes in Michigan. Change the world.<br><br>The same thing happened in New York. <br>Get the man power in to fight back. <br><br>History repeats itself.
With Israel's behavior and our support. No wonder everyone is looking at this problem ❤Now Rumpt is pulling support for Israel by the end of 2026? To the tune of over 4 billion dollars ❤<br>Just saying what is that as you give support to Israel ❤???
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsBT_0acQ2s&t=454">7:34</a> Wouldn't this show the issue was her lying and odd behavior surrounding this? Her pinned tweet at the time of this endorsement was arguing against Mike Rogers. That is odd and deserves explanation. <br><br><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsBT_0acQ2s&t=513">8:33</a> Sellers literally said this and agreed. This man fighting ghosts this morning 😅
Of course the shameless Republicans on the panel want to equate her to Cheney and Kinzinger. There was a full blown coup attempt that happened and needed to be dealt with. It was not them, but their entire party that suddenly flipped away from democracy and the constitution in favor of despotism. It was the party that abandoned everything they pretended to stand for, like family values and the rule of law.
... I had every intention to vote for Ms McMorrow until she dropped out of the race primarily due to that fake poll... hope to get to vote for her in the future... first strike against stevens for me was schumer endorsing her...
The polls are way off. They never poll republicans and some are completely bogus. Iowa for example was going blue according to your "polls", but in reality they are going red and up by 2%.
.....you work at McDonalds, a customer comes in and asks "what's good"<br>You tell them to go up the block and eat at Burger King because it's better.<br>....somehow you expect to keep your job?<br>She's nuts
Haley Stevens keeps digging herself bigger hole. She can write a book on how to kill your political career in one bad move. She can become a lobbyist; she was great at taking AIPAC money.
"My family has long been MB"<br>and<br>"...had an absolutely fantastic chat with my mum about her Muslim Brotherhood activism in the early 70s whilst she was at university <a href="http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=%23respect">#respect</a>".<br> - Eman Abdelhadi, Abdul's half-sister<br><br>Him constantly dismissing any questions about family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood as Islamophobia is disingenuous and a red-flag.
These discussion panels are one step away from a WWE interview with "Mean Gene" and "Macho Man Randy Savage". Maybe we need them to literally wear capes, a feather boa and giant cartoon sunglasses.
She's the true "Sleeping with the enemy". I hope politicians understand this type of "Romance Scam". This robs the country, not the person.
She met and got engaged with Turkish after the primary. Then Turkish went out and said she won’t be endorsing Abdul for much longer like a day before she switched. I think questioning if that ogre had anything to do with her decision is just being observant, not sexist or misogynistic.
The black community is safe hands with Mike Rogers. His close connection with Donald Trump is important. We know Donald Trump's history with black people. He has always supported the black community and has always actively supported civil rights movements and actively set up organizations to help black people financially, civil rights, he has publicly been supportive of them call predominantly black countries "great countries", he has always been welcoming to blacks in his housing complexes and gave them free housing.
Dems will lose again. If by chance they eek out a House win, it will ensure they lose 2028. All the polls are wrong. Republicans aren't polled and most vote the last day of the election. Everyone I know is voting straight RED.
Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Dr. Abdul El-Sayed raised a single-day record of $2.4 million on Sunday, November 2, 2026. 65% of tue donors are new! This was in response to Hayley Stevens's call to endorse Mike Rogers!
