most of the time when a 'smaller' club break into the top 4 early in the season, it's because they had an easy run of games. as the season progresses they will face the big guns and parity is restored. but brighton has played arguably the best 4 teams in the league already and they are still 3rd, above chelsea, liverpool and just 2 points below city. people talk about how arsenal have the best defence but brighton have the second best defence with only 7 goals conceded and 4 of those came in their first game of the season in that seesaw battle against chelsea. they have the most number of clean sheets in league just like arsenal. but they are also the highest scoring team in the league, with way more goals than the big 6.. or now 4. they beat the so-called meanest defence in the league, arsenal, by a three goal margin. correct me if i'm wrong, the last time arteta was beaten in any competitive match by a three goal margin was four seasons ago; also by brighton. if brighton can reel in the points against the mid tier teams, they will challenging for the title come end of the season. because their final two league games are literally against liverpool and arsenal.
