this story reminds of the work that Jon had been fighting for 9/11 families and survivors..not for fame or money but as a service to humanity. We need to reorganize and stand up for what we stand for...i.e to be human again!
Project 2025 was not new. It didn't drop from the sky in 2025. The Heritage Foundation published their first version of their "Mandate for Leadership" series in 1981. Reagan implemented "Mandate for Leadership" policies in the versions published in his first and second version terms. The Heritage Foundation creates these documents with input from other "conservative" organizations. Russell Vought plays a prominent role, however, focusing on him misses the breadth and depth of the people and institutions involved. News media (including comics) still report on Vought and Project 2025 as if Vought is solely responsible, and as if Project 2025 is not part of a series of policy documents first adopted by a U.S. administration in 1981.

I worked in local government for 25 years in a top ten by population city. Everyone I worked with served the public in some way. That is why we are called Public Servants. Most of us don't do it for the money and some of us didn't even do it for enjoyment. I had a job, not a career. But if I hadn't done my job folks wouldn't have been able to pull permits, build a new subdivision or sell off a part of their property to somebody else. Many, many, many mundane things get done by us so that everyone's life runs smoothly and we take great pride in doing it without drama. Thank you Michael Lewis for writing this book. I look forward to reading it.

I do have a question. For someone with less than $`100,000 to invest, How would you recommend we enter the market. I'm looking to study some traders and copy their strategy rather than investing myself and losing money emotionally. What's your take on this approach?
My favorite people in the world are the ones who actually keep this country running without ever having to draw attention to themselves. I trust those people over politicians any day.
Great book, listened to it last week, I hope it becomes a movie like The Big Short and Moneyball did too, it deserves it. That is the only way you could get those who really would benefit the most from understanding to do so.

I now am so behind work my work load has more then triple but now my rating can only get up to a 3 a C if you will. I am so tired boss. This Admin brought in a lumberjack to do a surgeon’s job. The amount of money we as a people will see that they lost not “saved” will then magically be the opposition fault.

I like how he understood the need to bear arms. "Liberals" who think only the government should have "assault" weapons thinks only Trump should have those weapons at his disposal.<br>There is a reason we didn't restrict people's right to own cannons, grenades, or warships when the constitution was written.<br>Take a cannon, load it with buckshot, an automatic firearm wishes it could unleash that kind of carnage. I was a private sector and quite successful forensic evaluator and then lawyer for over 30 years before I entered County government as a department head. It gave me an intimate view of the folks in my department and, through attending County Commission meetings and hearings and relationships with other department heads a great view of County government overall. The quality and diligence of civil servants blew my mind, inquisitive, energetic, principled and eminently open to oversight because EVERYTHING was ultimately an EVIDENCE BASED decision or policy. I'm so grateful for Michael Lewis shining a light on these completely unsung heroes. You may not be able to imagine your life without the passionate work of civil servants. I can and I recognize the incredible return on investment these people provide all of us. These people are the best of the best and they return incredible benefits to our tax payments.

When I took American Government and Politics, my professor made the point that government bureaucracy has been denigrated and stereotyped as inefficient and bloated when in fact, with a workforce of millions, it makes sure that all Social Security Cheques are sent on time, and all the other functions of government run smoothly 99% of the time, but of course only the 1% of time it doesn't ,is the target of outrage. Senior bureaucrats have decades of experience. They are experts in what they do, but they are rarely given praise for the 99% of times that everything goes right, A greater number of positions in the hierarchy were controlled by the incoming administration before reforms created a professional buraeucracy where people know what they are talking about and would not be turfed with every new administration. Before then positions were filled through patronage and corruption ran rampant. Something that is never mentioned, is that the President is not only the Commander in Chief but also the Administrator in Chief. As the AiC, the president is responsible for the smooth running of the government, and the implementation of laws enacted by Congress. The institutional damage that Trump has done is staggering. It will take decades to fix. America has stumbled badly and Russia and China have noticed and they will not interrupt the US while it is committing these blunders. And the rest of the world is turning away from the US as fast as it can.
The purpose of Doge was to create a smoke screen while they stole all our data from the agencies they gutted and eliminated in order to, among other things, create a bogus federal voter registration list. They've been using that list to feed their lies in subverting the elections in Nevada and California.

There's a shortage of staff in the SSA offices across the nation.<br>That VA appointment - you're going to be waiting longer because of the number of Docs, nurses and support services we're missing.<br>Your state waiting for FIMA money? Better take a seat (especially if you live in a "Blue State.")<br>We're paid less for doing the same work out in the private sector.<br>When we take take the Federal job we swear to uphold the Constitution. <br>We are here to serve the people of the United States.<br>Those of us that are left and continue to work in these demoralizing circumstances are real Patriots.

I'm so stoked to read the book as a civil servant myself who watched in horror at the federal employees be abused. Understanding government outside of politics is so important to me because I'm serving others but it's hard to explain how. Lastly, the way Michael talks about public servants is so humanizing and appreciated. ❤

"2 million Federal workers" is only part of the story Mr. Lewis, that's only the "Civvies"- I was a Govt. IT InfoSec Contractor, it's contractors that do ALL the work in the Govt. the career staff are the bosses, we did all the actual day-to-day work.
