It was very peaceful protest. On one side-corner, some criminals, (both locals and immigrants) just saw an opportunity for stealing, and "Thrill", and got their bottoms busted by the police after there, where they will be investigated and punished. The NEWS, MEDIA, got a chance to publish something, and get coverage to sell more Advertisments. The protest was peaceful and a sign of alive and lively nation, and youth: it is not a bad thing by itself and if it is done peacefully, it is not a problem. The Police-Personnel number must be increased exponentially, to make sure they proactively protect both people, and property.

Sadly the protestors don't seem to recognize the size of the home they own isn't going to matter if someone comes and takes it from them. And that is a real threat in much of Europe right now.<br><br>The US needs to cut back on defense spending. Europe needs to increase it significantly. Don't confuse the realities. Unfortunately, this means less money for everything else in Europe. And that means continued internal instability, loss of institutional trust and democratic backsliding. Liberals need to think and act beyond convention. Piecemeal reforms and promises to fix the things legislatively that you can't isn't going to work.
Figures. EU politicians call for more military spending because they view the US as unreliable thanks to Trump, but selling that spending amongst the voters, particularly the younger generation, was always going to be a hard sell.

Nobody hijacked the protests. This is State Prop@g@nda like any other state that highlights the violence but overlooks the rest 90% where demonstrations were peaceful.
