For a long time, Europeans have lived under the U.S. nuclear umbrella, which has allowed them to allocate more funds toward social welfare—such as education, healthcare, and elderly care—at levels exceeding those in the United States. The war in Ukraine has now forced European nations to increase their defense spending; however, Europeans remain unwilling to compromise their accustomed standard of living, leading to protests. They're not going to say we will pay you all the same and you all only have to work 4 days a week now thanks to AI. No they're going to lay off 20% of staff and keep the productivity gains for themselves, thereby increasing that winners and losers gap they mentioned in this video
The UK Government is paying hotel chains and private landlords to house 100,000 migrants who entered the country illegally and the government is diverting funds from other areas as the staggering costs continues to rise.
