LGE 2026 | PAC announces Thami Ka Plaatjie as Johannesburg mayoral candidate

Political activist, scholar and former ANC member, Thami Ka Plaatjie, has been announced as the PAC's mayoral candidate for Johannesburg.

His announcement was made in Johannesburg, alongside other mayoral candidates for the other seven metros, and seven secondary cities.

Ka Plaatjie was PAC Secretary General in the early 1990s, before leaving the party to join the ANC.

He has been welcomed back into the party, along with other members from the EFF, Rise Mzansi and Afrika Mayibuye Movement.
