To see a clear picture one will need to see his pediatric reports, psychiatrist and psychiatric records. school behavior reports, police reports from house incidents involving him, any court decisions that allowed him to be taken out of school and committed, military discharge, and I suppose a clear picture of what really happened will be revealed. But only if he files a criminal complaint in court and only if that is public. He has not filed one as far as we know, but the allegations created interest in his book. I can't reconcile the allegations without a formal complaint, so something is not logical here.
Even with visible abuse, with witnesses and we do what we are supposed to do and report it, it still does not help the child being abused. If anything, it makes it worse for the child once the investigation and interviews are completed. The abusive parent can play the part of a caring parent long enough to make cps go away. I have no faith in our system.
Alot of these "reality" families or popular social media fams, have alot of darkness going on behind closed doors. I have a large family and life is far from easy and no way would i show it to the world. These "perfect" families are far from that. Stop giving them air time, and likes as the kids are usually the ones suffering 😢

TLC is notorious for ignoring/hiding harmful behavior. Sister Wives, The Duggar shows and this one were constantly renewed season after season. Anything for a profit. 😢😢

Why does law and crime seem sympathetic to Kate? It’s baffling to the rest of us. The world could see with their own eyes what a vile and evil person she was on the show. I appreciate the guest stating that delayed reporting is normal and usual with child abused cases. Why law and crime seems to side with Kate is rather disgusting and weird!

I don’t know if I’d say this is “shocking” news. Kate abused Jon and the kids verbally/mentally from the very first episode. TLC SHOULD HAVE stepped in and ended the show but they liked the ratings too much. 😏

Why didn't Kate take Collin to the state of the art teaching hospital where he was born 30 miles away instead of a for profit warehouse facility 2 hours away. Hershey Medical Center has a child snd adolescent psychiatric department. Why did he arrive at Fairmont without any perscriptions when Kate had been giving him medications for months. Where was she getting those drugs? Medical records are legal documents and this is a trail worth following.

I remember seeing that episode and they were young maybe four or five years old and the way that she isolated Colin and slowly got all the kids to agree with her that his behavior was so wrong I immediately didn't like it. Never watched the show again. I believe what are you saying. He was the whipping boy.

I used to watch this show when it was on and absolutely loved it. I feel bad now but I was a teenager myself and didn’t fully understand child exploitation. I’m so sorry to Collin and understand and can sympathize with his story in so many ways. I hope he finds ways to heal, although I know what happened to him will always affect him and the way he sees other people and the world.
